★ are warm ☆

coffee cup sitting

restlessly on a corner

as radio waves are

blaring overplayed hits

the air is as languid

as the children inside

torpor due to excess

sweltering heat

mornings are spent

praying on beads

of sweat and melting

like the ice cubes

left on the pavement

immersed in water

waiting on rain cycle

to make its welcome

rare statements

a can of soda under

a red striped umbrella

the poolside bar and

sunburnt cameras

hear the sounds of

warm weather, of

another summer

in california.
