there’s rest stops

and sweet shops

and turnpikes round the bend

there’s full cups

and empty taps

and cheers for ingénue bartend

there’s star luck

and moon rocks

and southern constellations wend

there’s quaint hops

and full stops

but the serendipity truly never ends.

★ oh no ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

there’s a taste in that bittersweet word

that calm expression, passé tongues

speaking as if they didn’t crash worlds

and left the sun and moon to hang

the hearts colliding with every beat

and souls gain momentum in a heat

the bastards take their velvet seats

and watch the show, clapping teeth

from afar, the diabolic supernova

looks to be a marvellous hysteria

streaks and arcs of light intertwined

you witness a million stars fall declined

and yet, oh! the beauty, the irony, the

sheer cruelty of it all, for when all of the

constellations head south and lose glow

and one densely exclaims a soft ‘oh no’

when the planet loses orbit revolutions

and hurtles into a hopeless dissolution

there will always be someone so tactless

that whispers back their pleased ‘oh yes’.

☆ me ★

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

i never cared much

for a mirror.

frivolous and vanity

and terror

at what you might

see there

like ghosts or parallel

to give scares

but what chills me

personally is

not the monsters or

distort oddity

it’s if i looked into a

mirror and

don’t fancy what i see

and it’s not

a spectre, but simply

just me.

★ without ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

i am wanting

in faith and hope

or so you say

my prayers and

paeans don’t make

it through a day

what’s left of the

ribbons i tie in my

withered hair

and gaze at the

sunset without

any unawares

i’m lacking in joy

and bloat with

sheer despair

and i see all the

world as just one

big daycare

wallowing with

small children

waiting to be fed

spoiled and brute

and discontent

until they’re dead

a cynic, a cyanide

a crass coldhearted

curdled milkmaid

who smashes the

glasses, and steps

on the carnage

i am scarce of love

and emotions, they

say it’s quite unfair

but i’m willing to try

all this silliness, only

if someone will share.

☆ you freeze ★

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

ceasing the motions

of fluid tarantella

as if caught in headlights

of a mass deliria

shame since i loved the

movements of silk

and your flaxen tresses

that bounce in a wink

you were bold, brazen

you danced swan lake

caught them frozen

like an ice cream headache

the ballroom hitched

breaths at your gloria

as if you were the

intruder cinderella

but you ain’t got glass

shoes, only a glass heart

and when they glowered

it broke you apart

and you fled from the halls

of the midnight ball

they resumed laughing

and ignoring your fall

with no prince to chase

with a shoe size fantasy

the clock didn’t have to

strike twelve to end

your dream revelry.

★ let ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

let the colourful sails

change their course

with the zephyrs’

fickleness force

let the blood flow

down your arms

and expel the

witch’s charms

let someone change

your rotoscoped life

into perspectives

of vivacity blithe

let the dark stay

where they are but

harvest the lights you

can seek and spot

let the letters be sent

onto a newborn day

and let the dawn melt

to fade the hues of grey.

☆ never ★

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

shut the door on

those naysayers

and enter that

needle that gets

you in heaven

the pendulum is

whining, time

for you to hitch

your dress and

clamber up eleven

impossible! they

whinge, no way!

they maunder and

cry, but it’s a ploy

to get them even

never? why, the

only never you know

is, to those nobbled

preachers, you

should never listen.

★ i’ll ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

ill.

how everyone

speaks of me

how they think

my mind is.

the silly child

with dreams

in the cloud

and wings on

the ground.

but this halo

of mine shall

shine again

and soon with

the skies i am

their friend.

the fall was

painful but i’m

made of stars

not ashes nor

welted scars.

they call me

absentminded

but i’m a dreamer

and i emerge to

be the winner.

it’s pretty much

how everyone

speaks of me, but

it’s not ill.

it’s not i’ll either.

it’s i will.

☆ but ★

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

the sky is bound

to fall anyways

maybe i’ll hold it

back someday

but now the drugs

paralyse my body

the fumes i inhaled

make me so tipsy

and they scream in

surprise and scare

whilst chemicals, it

blurred and stared

the police in batons

they knocked down

the basement doors

paint the red towns

and i’m sitting here

with cold dead hands

clutching my heart

wishing to understand

as they plucked the

planets off the ceiling

my lucy’s parvenus

her swan song dying

maybe the sky will

fall, splash eternity

but i’ll swim in the

face of its futility.

★ nearly frozen ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

sober on whiskey

and red faced as

the frigid winds

tossed her auburn

locks like sparrows

the party was over

she’d tossed her

garter to the crowds

and they went wild

and hit it off like

eros’s pink arrows

but warm hands

failed to find their

way into her soul

and icy blue eyes

and she walked alone

she was a snowman

with how cold she felt

inside and outside

no one to thaw her

and she walked on home.
