Diesis

i revere you

with clenched jaws

grinding bones

scream, scream

.

ulysses defeated

a sisyphean darling

crushed by mere pebble

and then over again

.

arcana uncovered

red eyes and whitecaps

cigarettes after dark

hypanthium reborn

.

or apoplectic laughter

in a shockwave cadenza

and a swindled affair

wet milk and ballet

.

luxuries losing out to

sensationalism and

tabloid embolism, finding

adverts for martyrdom

.

black flies swarming

on the gloom of my

eyelids, lithium to fend

off the vulgar answer

.

saving the worst for last

submerge all the colours

to confess before the lie

here comes the hurricane

.

yes, i revere you with a

ruthless antagonism

but to love you, mon cherie?

i wouldn’t ever dare.

An Affair with an Angel

You know that, I’m a nightmare and I’m going crazy
You’re going nowhere so
I’m taking you with me (out of line)
This is what you get when you fuck with a classic roundabout
But it just might be me out of line…

~*~

Paying for intense fire that presents itself in metaphor

This is what you deserve for putting it out

Screaming fucking hell into a payphone call to heaven

Until the plastic receiver melts your mouth

Conflagrating under pyres that consent your affliction

That’s what you get for falling in addiction

Sending letters to dear agony signed in your own blood

Hoping for a reply, but it never reaches God.

~*~

I’m relentless
I’m relentless
I’m relentless!

She Owns a Red Cadillac and I Need an Accident

(Here, have a random piss-poor excuse of a “song” that I wrote aeons ago, because why the hell not.)

~*~

I can’t imagine being anywhere else
I can’t imagine being anywhere else but here
How the hell did you ever pick me?
Honestly, I could sing you a song
But I don’t think words can express your beauty
It’s singing to me, how the hell did we end up like this?
You bring out the beast in me…

~*~

It was the best day of our lives

Until you decided to run away

Into the highway velocity, a blood-beat wife

It’s the same old routine today

.

My bridal girl, your seatbelt’s fraying

In gasoline tears, your dress is melting

But don’t you cry too fast now

The road’s too slippery for a row

.

Hit another skid, another dancing kid

(I’m tired, I’m tired, I’m fucking tired!)

The path is twisting, I’m getting rid

(Too busy fighting, fucking watch out!)

.

You passed out again from pressing on your bruises

In silken sheets and raining scarlet roses

We’ll save you! We’ll save this

Affair, a tragedy for the intensive care unit

.

Kill me, kiss me again

With both my hands on the steering wheel

It’s more fun to die with both eyes wide shut

So don’t let me miss the thrill

.

Yellow headlights illuminate

Another fractured heart

And shattered glass against the monitor

A beat that won’t restart

.

(Crash! Crash! Cause a pileup on the intersection!

Red! Lights! Call an ambulance, fucking call 911!)

.

You passed out again from coddling your concussion

In the backseat staining sodas and cold emotions

They’ll save you! But can’t save this

Affair, a casualty for the backdoor morgue cemeteries

.

Wipe away the spit that’s fermenting on the windshield

This is the beginning of an ending of a road trip tour that failed

I’m just a pedestrian and you ran me over and out

But I got hit so hard, I lost my sense and twisted my mouth!

.

Let’s be honest, this turnpike romance was never gonna work

I guess you’re just a bad driver now and I’m the jerk…

.

(Confiscate my licence, hit the brakes now!)

.

You blacked out again and you never wanna wake up

This turbulence in California won’t have a gas station stop

I’ll save myself! I’ll save this acceleration

A passenger seat left empty come the overtaking horizon.

.

(Crash! Crash! These hearts are colliding, we’re in motion!

Red! Lights! Don’t call 911, we’re about to have fun!)

~*~

It goes to show, I hope that you know that you are
What my dreams are made of
Can’t fall asleep, can’t fall asleep
I lay in my bed awake, in my bed awake at night…

Doses of Quintessence: Verseuchen

~*~

WELTSCHMERZ

There’s a constricting tug-of-war within my heart

Arteries painfully pulling veins against my blood

Desperate to gain the upper hand for my emotions

But both end up losing, falling, and covered in mud.

~*~

SCHADENFREUDE

That’s a goddamn stripclub travesty

Dear, not my suicide bedroom scene

So don’t break in a fucked soliloquy

That’ll break this automatic machine.

~*~

SEHNSUCHT

Nothing but demarcation on magnanimous affairs

The indisposition scurrilous of a conniption share

If I commiserate my pretense for synaptic humans

Will they hold my head under to inject tryptophan?

~*~

MUTTERSEELENALLEIN

I repudiated my own self-blames

I’ll shut the closet, elucidate this game

If I emancipate my bastard whim

Shall it be considered a cavalcade sin?

~*~

ANSTÜRMEN

Calamity, that’s my designated appellation’s lacklustre

I’m a raging typhoon tantrum, an unmitigated disaster

I wreck lives, dishevel memories, or command discord

So stay away from me, I can ruin you with mere words.

Falling Stars and Balcony Scenes

When the light means nothing to you
Then no one would know the sound of a ghost
And I might be perfect with you, but
No one would know, so tell me, tell me…
Have you ever really danced on the edge?

~*~

A painful universe of blood and ash

Painting a ceiling over the horizon

Of a rare paradise the angels whitewashed

Rippling with sorrowfulness notions

You stood by the sharp edges, oscillating

Underwater heart affairs cold and drowning

Eating thumbtacks for breakfast last night

I’m sorry I wasn’t there to say you’ll be alright

Splendour of sunset, pink oceans on fire

Hitch rendezvous on a streetcar named desire

Rehearsing bland lines for your soliloquy

Dancing down aisles, our waltz of catastrophe

No, no, oh no, you can’t just throw me away

And I just can’t allow you to prolong your stay

This queen sized bed used to be so warm

Now your jokes are as funny as a broken arm

But I loved the mistakes you always made

And the teethmarks on my skin will never fade

A synthesised humility, surrogate sanctuary

I’ve memorised the sound of your voice, honey

Now you stand by the sharp edge, my lone star falling

While I dislocate my shoulders, your little prince catching

Interlocked in a fierce maelstrom, the calm of your flight

But this time around, I’ll be here to tell you that you’ll be alright.

~*~

Is something still scaring you?
(Have you ever really danced on the edge?)
The count of three is up
(Have you ever really danced on the edge?)
Alright then, tell me so
(Have you ever really danced on the edge?)
Just hold my hand and jump…

This Affair Is Not For The Fainthearted

I wouldn’t front the scene if you paid me
I’m just the way that the doctor made me
On and on and on and on
Love is the red the rose on your coffin door
What’s life like, bleeding on the floor
The floor, the floor…

~*~

Your poets and criminals all dance in the same cell

Your mother’s eyes scream a silent prayer, can’t you tell?

You throttled the trigger, and emptied the hot lead chamber

And I’ll be your paper target, empty holes I’ll feel forever

.

They gave me ephedrine, fed me some tasteless medicine

Prescribed Abilify for the choir voices singing “Hallelujah!”

They dosed the offset, and I upped the convulsions

But don’t get a rosary yet, it’s just a side effect of prescriptions

.

You be my violent opposition, I’ll be a perfect mute

We’re perfect for each other, recriminated and abused

Hatred for this mad world, hearts exploding like a bomb

Let’s flare and glare, we’re neverwhere, drenched in bevy scum

.

So taste my butane skin, and load the ammunition

We’ll conflagrate our black souls into incineration

I’ll expunge your wasted blood, all the roses you bled

We’ll march the cathedral halls until we’re dead, we’re dead

.

Your apathy demands attention, alleviation you’ve aspired

You asked for a cure but all they gave are pills long expired

Hold on, hold on, maybe you’re just being badly neurotic

I must be going crazy, hell, why do I find that so romantic?

.

I’ll carry my mama on a gurney, into the deep forest since

Another contusion appears in my skin, a tally of all my sins

Shall we leave mother dearest to rot in the presence of wolves?

Should I be guilty? No, the law yells for me to absolve, absolve!

.

And we’ll ride the metal hansoms on this corporate fairy tale

But darling, I fear they’ll dissent, and you’ll be caught in the gale

Divas and starlets and mobs of girls dressed all meretricious

Men in suits, cornpone a-holes, faulty visions with strabismus

.

Come with me, we’ll infect all the sterile institutions in vile disparaging contritions

We’ll haunt the fallen graves in séances we frayed, won’t you accept my resignation

Don’t you worry, I’ll gladly be your widow honey, I’ll be your final lethal injection dose

This graceless romance is not for the squeamish, we all fall down in hell, and repose, repose!

~*~

So give me all your poison
And give me all your pills
And give me all your hopeless hearts
And make me ill
You’re running after something
That you’ll never kill
If this is what you want
Then fire at will…
