i guess i still miss you

a rush

melting out

tapering

off into what

appears

to be another

addiction

.

but

.

i thought

i could’ve been

over you

past the fence

separating

common sense

and longing

.

but

.

here i am

again—trapped

inside the

tertiaries of why

angels don’t

exist in my mind

only your halo

.

but

.

even then, i know

that’s just a hellish lie.

heaven has hazards, too.

I am my own parasite
I don’t need a host to live
We feed off of each other
We can share our endorphins
Doll steak, test meat…

evocation

the protests

rise like bile

and anarchy

from the back

of a shut throat

shut by rope

shut by force

shut the hell up

angels like you

don’t have wings

but holy tongues

no, it’s not the same

acidic prayers

could only burn

if you believe

and we don’t

believe me, i tried

but i can’t listen

to your whining

curdled preaching

spines unreeling

catching the bait

with faith and

worms, it doesn’t

matter; they all

taste the same

when all you eat

is your own words

spoiled aphorism

colourless lies

promising cheap

doses of paradise

fools betraying fools

the duality of man

bleeding out on

concrete praises

to coat the streets

with a fresh kind

of damnation

to slip on and fall

broken ankles

lead the line back

to recycled agony

playing pretend

that we’re all

something more

than god’s little nothing

blacked-out cursing

never quite trying

mesmerising, again

this enervation.

Look on the bright side is suicide
Lost eyesight, I’m on your side
Angel left wing, right wing, broken wing
Lack of iron and/or sleeping…

phantom boy

don’t you go,

phantom boy

i’m still not done

painting your portrait

to hang in my walls

long after the house rots,

long after i’ve passed away.

they said to let you go

for you’ve already found

your bluest heaven

where you can sleep with

fleecy floral angels,

but i don’t think i could

let you go that easily.

i want to capture you,

your ethereal silhouettes,

your faded outlines,

your scars and scepticisms,

your details and blurs,

and your coalescing heart.

because i still have mine,

phantom boy

and it beats angrily—

refusing to let me rest

until every colour, linework,

and careful brushstroke

is immaculate and

tastes tangibly of you.

i know you wish to leave soon,

phantom boy…

but won’t you please stay

and spare me just

one last masterpiece?

Gossamer

Here’s to the boy with flowers for hands

And a voice that sounds like fair weather clouds

Sending angels down the darkest of stands

And tranquil oxygen that ensconces and enshrouds

Here’s to the child with oceans for smiles

And a soul that plays like a perfect eventide reverie

Keeping powerless, the brightest of minds

A wind chime caught in a breeze, the only song for me.

Belial

I will defend that we are the vanquished
And you will not make our decisions
I won’t pretend that I’m not a victim
Of a world that will not listen
They will fall, nothing that I can’t overcome…

~*~

Rise from your grave

And save yourself

The angels won’t miss

A blurry little detail

.

Devour their promise

Crushed fingers lift

From another prayer

That you sent back to hell

.

They will all thank you

Someday, you think boastfully—

But for now we’re content

Cursing you back to your death.

Conquer the battles one by one
Crushing the head of what’s become
I’m screaming at the top of my lungs…

Sweet Halo

Oh, sweet halo

Come back to me

The angels cry still

For an eternity

Oh, sweet halo

Return to the light

The demons hath killed

Bring me back to life.

A Mouse in the Kingdom of Lions

All eyes on me, castles falling
Glory, glory, I’ll rise like a one man army
I don’t wanna die without living
I can’t fight without winning
All eyes on me, I’ll rise like a one man army…

~*~

In these destroyed ruins I stand in eulogy, beating the drum

For the voice of dead angels and the harps left unstrummed

Corrupted blood rains down in blizzards of prideful torrents

This efficacious fight’s dishonour gradually refusing to relent

.

So proclaim me wrong, devour this bravery to the starving wolves

For deceit and manipulation is the singular truth I’ll boldly uphold

Attention wrought to the tumultuous voices of the silent anarchists

Uncivil battles engaging against the flames of the contrite arsonists

.

Was thus my gullible sin? Have I persuaded concentric fools yet again?

Dost I have to beg mocking demons just to return to my fallen Heaven?

False, it exists only within old locked towers, behind walls of a fantasy

Hell is a decadent salvation, the final hour’s reverence and only mercy

.

Shards of glass cruelly beleaguering my gregarious scars and wounds

Forgiveness as unforgiving as the darker repasts of the eclipsed moon

The dagger I hold is a facsimile of my humble chivalrous restorations

I’m but another violent visionary rejecting sheer valiance of perdition

.

So reap my damaged soul, for it’s already damned in sacrificial benevolence

And such tempest has defied my will, as it pilfered my crumbling innocence

Yet I shall raise my poisoned sword, nay to my chest, but to my heavy chains

In this kingdom of a wasteland I have created, only the defeated shall remain.

~*~

Even when we’re lost
It doesn’t have to mean we’re losing
I will overcome if I fight now, right now
Never fear, never fall, never giving up
‘Til you give me what I came for
I’m through with all the time I’ve wasted
Battle stations…

Starry Seas

Dawn stains grey eyes

Sunburst skin freckles

On chatoyant mischief

A fluorescent orbit fell

Neon angels swimming

On a vast ocean of stars

Gravity’s shore receding

But heaven isn’t that far.

Angels Don’t Exist in Fairy Tales

Hear the sound
The angels come screaming
Down your voice
I hear you’ve been bleeding
Make your choice
They say you’ve been pleading
Someone save us!

~*~

I don’t care about the midnight angels

The static voices ring in my head every night

Another apology simply went to hell

Lithe like a burning sapphire-encrusted kite

.

I lost my way behind old rusted doors

I’m dancing on nails scattered all over the floor

Tradition keeps the pages from yellowing

But the impulsive tongues kept on poisoning

.

So black out, resay it, and fucking fall

Gut and glory and guns and games, damn it all

Kill the pendulum swinging in your deadly heart

Sweet like confectionary, yet as hard as tart

.

Shallow pockets drop tarnished spare change

For obedient me to follow the witch’s trail

Bullets I ate like stale bread crumbs mage

Shove me under the oven, punishment to entail

.

Bury me in black and blue gruesome

The kingdom is damned for princesses long gone

I’m already dead, the villains have won

But this story never ends, the twist never comes

.

So stay away from my concentration

Keep your clenched fists away from the violence

Steer clear of my bones’ dissolution

Childish fracture garnered from decadence

.

There’s no one to save you from screaming

Another gingerbread wall collapses off

Again we’ll bleed in fairy lights twinkling

What’s this tall fable you’ve been speaking of?

.

So don’t defy my sorry, we’ll stake our clouds long

Flurry of destructive wings writing down halo songs

Now I don’t give a damn about the daylight angels

My soul’s running thin on faith, and heaven’s just cruel.

~*~

Heaven help us now
Come crashing down
We’ll hear the sound
As you’re falling down…

Mis[s]ery

I miss you

Like hell misses a colder rain

I miss you

Like a masochist craves pain

.

I miss you

Like a lost star on night skies

I miss you

Like a lover misses all the lies

.

I miss you

Like Noah misses tantrum flood

I miss you

Like a psychopath desires blood

.

I miss you

Like fallen angels miss their wings

I miss you

Like a slob misses the little things

.

I miss you

Like a miser misses all his money

I miss you

Like a butterfly thirsting for honey

.

I miss you

Like a junkie addicted to his drugs

I miss you

Like an alcoholic without her mug

.

I miss you

Like the sunset misses the moon

I miss you

Like a trailing song faded too soon

.

I miss you

Like I don’t miss my heart everyday

I miss you

And perhaps it’s better off this way.
