Small Universe

Ignorance was the smile on my lips

And blue cosmos—the smile on yours

You took dead stars from my eyelids

To birth their light with a solar force

.

And I was content in your constellation

Giving way to gravitating hearts that adored

The brightest nebula in the galaxy—you

As I spun wildly with electricity and fervour

.

Yet the day grew dim when a black hole came

And took all your eternal radiance back to claim

I couldn’t breathe—oh how I tried rather madly

To take for myself some of your losing energy

.

But ignorance were the tears on my eyes

And blue cosmos—the phantom tears on yours

Cursed with a beauty so brilliantly displayed

That this dying light couldn’t ever be your only star.

Rumours and Hearsay From Astronomy

“It wasn’t her who broke the stars.”

.

But she felt guilty all the same

As she stared at the dull midnight sky

Scattered with shards of light that hurt

In astral twinges and lunar fringes

When it hits her unblinking eyes

.

“It was him who fixed the horizon.”

.

But he didn’t feel responsible at all

He was merely there by coincidence

When it began to have mended itself

Coalescing into incandescent dawn

And yet he couldn’t say anything

.

“There’s this girl who locked the moon into the nebulae…

…and that boy painted the firmament rather ebulliently.”

.

Such mere rumours that the bored planets

Whispered clandestine amongst themselves

Altering details and chasing phantasmagoria

As the supernova truth shrank into a black hole

And sucked the boy and the girl in its dark void.

Blood Clots and Black Holes

Here’s your new drug, shoot it in the left eye
Feel it on the right side, no it’s not love
Though it sets up shop behind your ribcage
Building blood clots and black holes
Like using an axe to pull a sliver from your skin…

~*~

Unresponsive desolation, paralysed in blood and cement

Reactions set to explode, evidences execution half-meant

Excerpts of a circumvented verse, misguided boundaries

Pulses worn, reciting reasons for the living in cemeteries

Incompatible, undesirable, infiltrate my cataclysmic rain

Under issued influences, heroin and butane shot for pain

Crashing manifestos, an intervention set to fucking burn

There’s no point to reflect if there’s nothing to be learned

Covenant of injuries, gregarious dimensions disembodied

Bedraggled carcass averting headlights, a contingency bid

Cold condescension will only covet unconsented concerns

Wasted like a question mark, duplicated hemispheres torn

Bullets traded for breathing soldiers, a parasitic symphony

Beneath the facade of a tranquil noir, an indelible calamity

Again the fugitives sink in violent vices, composed in ashes

My perverse altercation is but an alibi under my rotted flesh.

~*~

And they say this is medicine
An overdose of oxygen
A severed head as sedative
To be at peace would be a sin
And surely un-american
I’m breaking down…

Calculated ConSciences

~*~

UNIVERSAL HUBRIS

The height of man’s hubris

Is greater than the galaxy’s imminent scars

And far more self-destructive

Than the chasmic rage of a collapsing star.

~*~

SUBATOMIC PARTICLES

Self-sustaining energy particles moving in constant disposition

Flying restlessly and bumping, in a state of endless collision

Combined together, and we’re completely inseparable, ever entwirled

But try to split us apart, and we’ll blow up and annihilate this entire world.

~*~

TESLA COIL

Electrify my bland empty soul with your high voltage resonating

Light me up with your purple streaks of wild dangerous lightning

Serenade me with sonorous music from your silver metallic currents

Guide me to sheer phosphorescence and make my damaged circuits reconnect.

~*~

QUANTUM LOCKED

I always appear to be in a state of vivacity, cloud-nine jubilance

People take a single look at me and see a belle epoque of elegance

But no one will know the truth, and nobody else will ever see

Because I only enter the state of decay when there’s nobody gawking at me.

~*~

SINGULARITY

Approach with utmost caution the raging black hole that is my body

If you dare, pass through my dark event horizon’s melding singularity

The geodesic paths to witness and scalar invariant curvatures to see

And once you have survived this impossible ordeal, we’ll be together in sempiternity.

Foolish Stars

We’re both fools, you and I

Simply looking for some light

Darkness brewing in our cores

But we didn’t want no more

.

We’re both fools, you and I

Whose dead stars had to collide

Thought each other was the answer

To feed away at our leeching cancer

.

We’re both fools, you and I

By the dark we were rendered blind

Thinking the pain could cancel out each other

But all it ever did was make it grow stronger

.

We’re both fools, you and I

But the damage had been done too much

Now we’re a massive black hole, not a force to defy

Sucking out all the light from everything we touch.

Chasing the Galaxy

Can’t you show me the enigmatic nebula

On your old brass telescope?

Let’s go and chase after the galaxy

Up the lone chartreuse hill, just you and me

For in the tenebris of space lies swirls of white

Dotted with chromatic sprinkles of pretty lights

I wish to see their pure perfection

Clear night skies for revelation

Before, woomph, the sparkles spectacularly erupt

Blinding supernova, before they slowly flicker and die off

And turn into a cruel black hole; dark, unforgiving, grotty

The complete opposite of the once-beautiful vestal stars they used to be.
