A Spoonful of Stagnancy (The Fix)

I woke up sideways trying to find clarity at the edge of my bed

‘Cause I thought I would meet a liar, but I met you there instead

With the knife stuck in one eye and a strange leer in the other

Before I could start to understand, you held our heads underwater

.

And let contrition flood my nostrils, let your heartbeat send the tides

Where old treasure chests and pirate bones can only dream to hide

My veins phosphorescent, a sickly glow, the predators won’t let me go

Sand in your lips like a velvet bliss, send me beyond cyclones and snow

.

A traitor in my midst, our ribcages interlocked beyond befallen stars

Fine silver melts at the very whim of your ire, spin a mysterious nebular

For where the mind shall go and where you let it roam is an open road

And you dragged me by the skin and teeth, jammed inside the folds

.

Beyond lost libraries and cathedral halls and the closets of your home

Our somewhere that we both could share just to leave ourselves alone

When your iris takes on some colour and the rusty blade begins to recede

Far away from angels and enemies and god, farther away from you and me

.

As I woke up sideways trying to find an elegy at the edge of my unmade bed

I just wanted to meet another dying sinner, but you left me one instead

With the knife out of my spine and your bloodstain roschach on my shoulders

Before we could start to understand, we were ending before it was all over.

Rogue

A subtle system, breaking melodies
Craving bullets from her gun
So I tripped, stayed, follow every word
Little spirals in their eyes…

scarlet bliss

worries fainting

seize my heart

cold in bad weather

.

scarlet bliss

worries falling

sedate my heart

cold in grey colours

.

scarlet bliss

worries finding

separate my heart

cold but not better

.

scarlet bliss

worries fading

sleep well, my heart

cold in your aether.

~*~

Catch a lover
Turn an enemy
Just to watch them
Burn alive…

anatomical dissection: brain

what hurts more,

remembering to forget

or forgetting to remember?

.

you count all the wins

and all the pyrrhic losses

that take your victories under

.

what hurts more,

the scars on your shoulders

or the scars inside your mind?

.

invisible to the naked eye

but a succumbing force that

makes you lose what you’ll find

.

what hurts more,

staying for the sake of leaving

or living for the sake of staying?

.

lock the pain up in your room

and hope this house burns down

with you still trapped inside, crying

.

what hurts more,

all the words that they said

or the words you never spoke?

.

sticks and stones don’t break bones

but splints and cement puts them back

quietly mending what you always broke

.

what hurts more,

knowing too much of everything

or drowning in your own ignorance?

.

scourge for knowledge, miss for bliss

drain the oceans and fill up the abyss

self-hatred fighting your self-defiance

.

what hurts more,

this cold logical ideology

or the lying sentimental truth?

.

it’s a constant push and pull

of devastating dreams and riled reality

inspiring like the rabbit inspires the wolf

.

what hurts more,

overthinking things again

or not thinking about it at all?

with a g

I’ll be the silver lining around your fence
Used to protect yourself from all the world
And its sharp teeth ’cause my open hand
And heart think you belong with me…

i’m made of

cigarette smoke

and whiskey

mixed with

liquid genocide

i’m made of

dead butterflies

in gloom boys’ stomachs

and a penchant for

red tape lies

.

you’re made of

sunlight haze

and lemonade twists

beyond a slice of

raspberry cake

you’re made of

quinine clemency

and natural blue

oh, that sideways smile

is all it takes

.

until i’m

unraveled bare

like a torn ragdoll

with a childish whim

and left in stitches

this candid spell

drowning ocean eyes

dear charlatan heart

you make a cynic

love the sweet bliss.

You were the light at the end of the hall
I followed bright signals sent my way
Because I’m steady day by day
So now I’m swimming in slow seconds with you…

liveshow

the thrill, the chase

each funny face

intense exhilaration

i want to embrace

the energy i take

every breath until

i jolt and awake

and i start to feel

excitement like a veil

scream ‘til i’m pale

cut through the shears

but no pain, no tears

every one second

is something to miss

in sweat and high

of this endless bliss

each blending song’s

memorised by heart

learn to chant along

it’s a delicate art

the pushes and shoves

good fun in the pits

moshing boys and girls

with wide smile teeth

the sheer camaraderie

everyone’s a friend

obsessed and possessed

to the very departing end

the joy and the love

when i know i’m alive

actual souls on the stage

giving warmth inside

the feeling irreplaceable

and satisfaction gained

tired and emotional

but it’s all fucking worth it

the constant aching relentless

from watching behind the screen

but with hopes rather dauntless

that someday i’ll be joining the scene.

“ignorance is bliss”

ignorance

is not a

detriment

to those

who know

too much.

Descry

I’m struck sick with disgust

Bitter putrid and greenly sick

The peptic taste of indigestion

Overflowing and ever so rich

.

Wretched whispers I followed

Into the roaring damp old cave

Hoping there’s a bit of light for me

That I could still manage to save

.

Truth and information unsaid

Hearsay stuck in my dumb head

Discovered under the white sheets

A rotten tooth in sticky candy treat

.

Swirled confusion and contusions

Lesions in my buffering brain

Twirled allusions and illusions

Can’t make sense of all this pain

.

I didn’t see, I haven’t learned

When my suspicions were aroused

They were never really confirmed

But the truth will always come out

.

Can’t even make me forget

Can’t even change destiny’s hate

Can’t even change sides on a bet

In this cruel cosmic joke that I ate

.

I didn’t really wish to ever know

True that ignorance was sweet bliss

If only memories could simply go

I’d leave her hanging in the darkest pit.
