Waiting is

So irritating,

Boring, and

And in the end,

What do you get?

Much ado about

Fucking nothing.

A Detective’s Ennui

Braindead from boredom
I’m lead to distraction
Scratching the surface of life…

Boring. Boring. Boring.

Nothing at all stimulating.

My mind is highly intricate and addled with explosives

This stalling planet is too small to contain the universe veering in my sleeves

All I hear from my violin is endless screeching noises

And all silence ever does is draw out the pretentious inside voices

Sitting idly and wasting time on frenzied sharks biting my head

A cup of tea won’t even calm me down as I tediously fill the walls with lead

I need another case or two or three or four right now

Why are murderers so awfully slow like molasses somehow?

The dullness of reality makes my perfect system crash

And can’t even be fixed easily with a nicotine patch

Where’s the fun? Where’s the thrill?

The feeling of not feeling anything but excitement and chills?

The game is afoot, and the madness begins

And yet I’m still sitting here, jaded, forced to count my sins

Boring. Boring. So much weariness, it’s mocking

In this mediocre, mind-numbing planet I’m left staring, left uncaring

Dropped off somewhere in the middle, with a mind so impossibly quick

But all their shaded static eyes ever see is a man so terribly sick

Boring. So boring. Why does it have to be so arid?

Humans with their minds so barely-used, straightforward, and placid

Hanging my head back to the end of another lacklustre colourless day

Maybe tomorrow the criminals will finally come out to play.

Let the Emperor Have His Fun

Mortal kings are ruling castles
Welcome to my world of fun
Liars settle into sockets
Flip the switch and watch them run…

The devil so clever with your little tricks

With your heart so cold and your head so sick

That even the boy with the mind so quick

You were able to push to the edge, like breaking a stick.

Silent, sullen, sneaking in the shadows so stark

Tried his best to hide but kept glowing in the dark

Until he realised it was futile, hiding was never his cause

And he lived not for anonymity, but for the applause.

A ghost visited the man to take back what’s rightfully his

Left with a debt, while the visited man, a crucial clue he missed

Blood is thick and crimson, his ragged scarf was blue

And a single note on the blood-red fruit left to say I O U.

Breathing is so dull and life is so boring

Newspapers, TV, all but dull fairy tales over and over

To save me from the aridness, I wrote my own ending

I died in the end, but then again, that’s what life is for.

So you saved the day, got redeemed and honoured

Defeated me after a million tries

But you forgot that heroes always get remembered

But legends surely will never die

And so the curtain rises and the game goes on, you see

So my dearest archnemesis, solve this one last riddle: Miss me?

I’m taking back the crown
I’m all dressed up and naked
I see what’s mine and take it
(Finders keepers, losers weepers)…

Monday Melancholia

Where is your head?
Where is your head?
Stuck in some dream
Where no one is listening…

Take me away from the anarchy of my mind

Leave all sanity and atrophy behind

Release me from the sirens that drown my ears

Cease the riveting flow of my crystalline tears

And pray keep that toxic black potion out of my reach

I implore, set me free and let my tired heart sleep.

Weary, despair, trudge, toil, and slave

Negative words that relate to desperation

But it’s funny and quite sad how many people state

That it’s also synonymous to education.

The vision of my eyes seems to be faulty

Replacing the clear filter with shades of blue

Perhaps that’s why when I wake up I always see

That I’m always filled with gloom.
