cirrus

drifting in and out

of their memories

beneath the roof of

your mouth, a bad

aftertaste; melting

candy floss, the kind

that rots your teeth

a shiver in cold spines

goodbye before hello

small talk discarded

glances not connecting

a heat haze in the rain

stranger to every city

uninvited so i won’t

bother anyone again

just another lone cloud

without a silver sigh

i think i’ll float away now

they’ll forget i was ever

here when i finally fly.

Laugh Tracks

I tried to kill my pain
But only brought more
So much more, I lay dying
And I’m pouring crimson
Regret and betrayal…

~*~

A gun to my mouth

Means that I’m okay

Don’t worry about me

Go on with your day

A rope around my neck

Means that I’m swell

Just keep on walking

And I do wish you well

Fifty pills in my stomach

Means that I’m doing good

There isn’t a damn concern

So carry on, as you should

A blade to both my wrists

Means I’ve never been better

And soon enough, I promise

I won’t be any more bother.

~*~

I’m dying, praying
Bleeding and screaming
Am I too lost to be saved?
Am I too lost?

Scolding a Brick Wall

Redundant litanies

Burning out your tongue

Hoping the fire would catch

On paper hearts unstrung

Exhausting castigations

Shooting past two deaf ears

Don’t bother with accusations

No one’s listening, dear.

The Rally of the Privileged Cynics

The semantics, the politics

The frustration of first class society

The arithmetic, quite septic

The planet to self-destroy humanity

What a bother, the chatter

We’re all fucked, it’s all in your head

Why does it even matter?

Let’s just burn down the world instead.
