Oubliette

the thorny thought

it grows and grows

through dahlias grey

and crimson throes

.

it pierces past

the hardest stones

the softest veils

and diamond bones

.

the thorny thought

thus rages harsh

climbs castles high

to reach the stars

.

it pierces past

the coldest blood

and empties veins

to the last drop.

a persistence of forgotten memory

i am clothed

in nightmares

subliminal—

sympathy;

cruel, mocking

resilience inching

in the undertows

of a fervent

disguise

their smiles fall

into chipped sneers

as violet eyes

flash with

covetous envy

but the crimson lips

on my thighs do

nothing but gape

without teeth.

bleeding petals

slip away to

reveal the ugly

creature underneath,

melancholy human

weeping for their

own insolence

grieving what they

do not have, and

asking for ire faith

in blind places,

and yet again

i find myself dear

in the company

of the strangers

in my head,

and the demons

in my bed, clawing

with terror, writhing

with pleasure, altogether

tearing me apart.

i am clothed in

my own

nightmares–

and yet my soul:

fully bared and

torn open

apart for everyone,

exposed and

insulted and reviled…

it still feels rather

n a k e d .

Once Upon A Red Moon

Once upon a red rose moon

Fragile vial of scarlet gloom

A flying phoenix blazing on

The wine-splashed horizon

.

Milky moon shaded deep garnet

Halo stark against the darker set

Shiny hanging ruby, lone against

Diamond stars, strung necklaces

.

Rose heart blanketed by shadows

Cherry lip smiling among sorrows

Or a polished apple on the ground

Merlot among wispy silver clouds

.

A carmine hue, a lunar sensation

Eclipsing blackest of my elations

Lit candle flame that heaven sent

Conflagrating on onyx firmament

.

Blue moons are for my melancholy

Yes, as rare as cobalt moons may be

But rarer still is that crimson moon

Blood spilled on the sky, a vivacious loom.

Crimson Butterflies

Fluttering like liquid ruby, their exquisite fragile wings

A lace of glimmers as they rush along, weaving tales, spinning

Amongst the trail of stars and abstract purple fleur-de-lis

Not at all lost, but wandering; uncurious, but wondering

.

These abstruse monarchial creatures set my soul in sole volition

When I’m torn between rebuilding hope and complete demolition

For who’d paint such a bold daring colour of danger and bloody ties

On the aesthetic likes of a delicate, innocent, little butterfly?

.

Standing beneath the skies dominated by a void of deepest onyx

With only scarlet specks to lead me on a life to desecrate and fix

These kaleidoscope of crimson butterflies will surely set me apart

I can only hope that one of them chances to land in my heart.

The Last Straw

Don’t try to deny it
You cannot hide it
I’ll be ignited
When I get to watch you burn

~*~

Temper licked at my mind like an uncontrollable blazing fire

My eyes flashed vivid crimson as I envisioned a funeral for a liar

Nerves soared with prickling feelings, as my heartbeat raced impossibly fast

Rigid muscles itching to take a couple swings and break something at last

Roaring and raging from my throat, explosions and eruptions arose

My primal instincts gave way to anger as my senses came to a close

You pleaded for me to stop this madness, but how utterly hypocritical of you

Because you were the one who snapped in half my very last fragile straw.

Entr’acte Overture

~*~

A moment of silence please
For those who never get the chance
They show up to the party
But they never get to dance

The losers, the liars
The bastards, the thieves
The cynicists, the pessimists
And those that don’t believe in nothing…

~*~

A ballroom of sleek transparent glass

Under the allure of the twinkling night skies

And all those vagrants who come to pass

Must shed their skin and reveal their disguise

.

No need to be convivial, no need to hide yourself

No need to use a mask, toxicity is not good for your health

Now if you may allow me to be on your side

Your arbiter elegantiarum, your own personal ally

.

Come now, and take my hand

Without words, you’ll understand

Hitch up that tattered dress

Wipe off all those makeup mess

.

No more speaking, not a single harsh word

For silence is what’s needed most in this world

We’ll spin and twirl, round and round

Dancing to nature’s mellifluous sounds

.

Hush now, settle down, don’t you cry

There’s no one here to judge you, dear

No one to maunder and whinge, no one to defy

No matter how bluntly frowsy you appear

.

Along the crowds in midsummer’s eve

We’ll dance along, let our bodies believe

That this is a painting, in belle epoque

Created so delicately with every brush stroke

.

Yes, we’ll dance till we can take no more

Until the glass gives away and shatters to the floor

But don’t let it hinder us, we’ll still dance along

As the scintillating floor is painted with crimson

.

I know it’ll be painful, but just look into my eyes

And you’ll see the universe veering by

And all that is lost may be found again

And all the wounds you garnered just might lose their pain

.

The razor-sharp glass is gilt-edged as well

Get lost in my pristine galaxies, don’t let time tell

Everything is just relative, all simply do jour

And soon fades away like a photo with no colour

.

And we’ll grace to the music until nothing else matters

As our hearts beat along and our souls flutter

We dance, until everything falls apart beneath our feet

And we finally fly into the heavens and leave entropy in its defeat.
