treachery, and then some

i’m the disconnect

the reset in the corner

of a lacerated brain

a troublemaker with a

causeless cause, if

only to destroy, if only

to wreck and rectify

if only to be the liability

that leaves beggars

and bastards cursing in

the end, cursive cry

hide myself with gaslight

to burn another home

and thrill all the stars with

these glinting claws

and fever dreams, allowing

me to pluck them out

and crush the last remains

beneath my own sins

so disconnect meā€”before

i scream once again

before their clocks retreat

after i’ve caused the

shame which left my own

bruised head in ruins.

26 – madness, malls, melancholy

i chase for my friends

forgotten i may be

anticipating the warmth

and better memories

.

breathing the anxiety

in countdowns from three

homesick, carsick, plain sick

hoping for deluded tricks

.

until my blind eyes light up

and my voice gets too numb

from talking, laughing, and

cheering at every little sound

.

though there is a disconnect

that sadder sense of longing

to know they’re moving past

without my outlier belonging

.

i’ll still chase, even when i trip

and show up at every single revelry

with crass smiles and crude gifts

hope i didn’t ruin your birthday party.

the disconnect

i want badly

to reconnect the dots

line by line, and

form a better image

but i guess we ran out

of points to trace

so i guess this is all

just pointless.

Scollegare

Words woven together

A lacework of articulacy

That once veiled under

A taciturn you and me

.

Words dragging knives

Into the ruined tapestry

Now laid in tatters for

A seething you and me

.

Words hung like clouds

Of a settling fog, heavy

Enveloping lines around

A wayward you and me.
