All Hail The King

Your cruelty clings to my broken wings
You wrote this in your scarlet letter
You’re a whore for feelings
A touch-me junkie scraping by the skin
Of someone who’s better…

~*~

It’s the way he carries himself

As if the world should bow to him

Each step a dramatic flair

With much regard and self-esteem

.

The way he looks down on people

Like he’s such a special case

With a practiced condescending sneer

Etched on his fist-worthy face

.

The way he degrades and consumes

Getting bites big enough to chew

When he has used and spat you out

He’s completely through with you

.

The way he thinks he’s all there is

And the universe on their shoulders is his

He’s got his friends, got his enemies

He’s got his plastic talent and camaraderie

.

And it’s the way he carries himself

As if he is the king of this whole damn thing

But he’s just a power-tripping man charged with treason

Prepped and ready for his final execution.

You’ve got it wrong, weakness is the body leaving pain
You like the way it hurts, the scar, the stain
You’re in the gutter, the kind of filth that makes me shutter
What you can’t change will remain the same…

3 a.m. cake and day-old coffee

I can’t afford the kind of love you sell
But I can’t afford to ever watch you leave
Won’t you come and put your sugar on my tongue
You’ve got your spell on me…

i would pretend

that it’s to mask

the bitterness

and overpower

it with even more

bitter grounds,

or to dislodge

the hard lumps

forming in my

drying throat,

but i’m not that

deluded or fucking

melodramatic—

or maybe i am.

the cloudy creams

of ivory frosting

melts with a touch

of tawny coffee,

perspectivism

and disillusions

blending madly

as i sit there,

stuffing my rictus

with pastries in

the darkness, like

a total gluttonous

shameless piece

of poison pie.

i am disgusting;

but i’m merely

enjoying crumbs

and leftovers of

my ant-eaten sanity,

trying to kill time

and soured anxiety

with decadent sugar

and innocent tongues,

all while attempting

to ignore the fact

that the immense

sweetness makes me

want to throw up.

and i indulge in the last

few poignant pieces

of a humbled life,

before this cold cake

and day-old coffee

becomes my final meal.

I’m the only one who knows
The secret places that the light don’t show
(The light don’t show) You know…

letters to s.d.: fragment #4 {lyricism}

you sing with [REDACTED] and i fu[REDACTED] and my voice up.

.

darling,

oh how i wish

i could sound

as profound

and as delicately

eloquent as you

when i speak

of this damn world’s

darkest chasms

but instead

i only end up

complaining unfair

and seething

childishly in

maudlin dramatics,

in my tongue

there’s a taste of

bitter spasms.

.

how can i say i [REDACTED]e you?

LOST

Wandering into endless depths of space

Condemned in an empty void, he lost his sanity

Because time won and he lost the race

Now he’s stuck there, lost for eternity.

~*~

AM I?

You tap me on the shoulder and ask me if I’m okay

I dry my eyes, smile, and simply say

“I’m fine, it’s cool, It’ll be great in all good time”

But inside I ask myself “Am I really fine?”

TIME HEALS WOUNDS

They say that time heals all wounds

But I simply cannot wait that long

These wounds and scars need to be healed soon

So shall we sew them up, while singing a little song?

~*~

EVANESCENT

You whisper goodbye to me

Then your words become evanescent

And like the deciduous leaves of a tree

You fall from my touch and finally break free.

~*~

RICHLY RED

Red, red, richly red

Flowing from my wrists into my bed

Streaming out of me until I’m dead

Red, red, bloody red.
