dizzying drizzles

face the sun, and i’ll keep the rain

well, it’s been a long time coming now

this summertime taste of faintest petrichor

and childishly reminiscing faded epochs

mind not the cold fever and stranger looks

i will dance to rhythms of our favourite songs

flumes washing away the plastic headaches

and these constant tremors shaking my hands

like quiet earthquakes—the crevices in between

falling into my thoughts, breaking out from

lukewarm routine and tepid temperatures

crashing down hazily into sluggish endeavours

but i won’t melt away into a puddle just yet

i’ll go pick up your sunshine from the ground

and we can slip away into pastel phantasms

where i’ll be sure to keep your laughter safe and sound.

Shades of Blue

If I do what I came to do
I’ll break through in shades of blue
In red and gold, the lights
Will flash and strobe
And I will finally know
This is my home…

~*~

the taciturn rain,

sometimes quiescent drizzle,

sometimes clarion storm

reminds me of turquoise memories

.

of electric glitter nail polish

shaded onto fingernails

pointing in the wrong direction

and chipping at the edges

.

of hair that looks like clouds

but coloured blueberry-slushie sky

and is iridescently sweet

like a gloom boy’s laughter

.

of sulky mp3 players

singing sempiternal distractions with

symphonies of dizzy dreamers

and skyward soul collisions

.

of apathetic faded scarves

wrapped around breeze-bitten necks

subtly referencing a beloved one

of the same jaded violin notes

.

of self-made backpack straps

a final flicker of glimpsing hope

before cosmic turns infinitely invisible

and footsteps cease giving chase

.

of cerulean paint peeling off bus seats

revealing a dull sheathe of grey slate

of wailing sirens intertwined with alarming red

of the ocean navy pen composing this poem

.

of the sky and the sea, melting horizon’s clarity

stark in mindless scratches adhering to scarred skin

the taciturn rain, so quiet, that cobalt eyes never noticed

coldness ceased falling, as blue memories caught up with me.

Drizzles and Hurricanes

Ocean blue, what have I done to you?
Cut so deep, yet growing through and through—
I built a hive, became one with the bees
But we fell like rain, got lost into the sea
If I don’t know, the wind will carry me
So just hold tight…

~*~

Poured cups of brewed coffee and steeped steaming darjeeling

The warmth in my soul swift spreading, quite a satisfying feeling

Cotton clouds burst, sudden downpour of trickling shallow streams

Spray shower knocking against my windowsill, eluding my daydreams

.

Northeast zephyr blowing unexpected fast without a spoken warning

The benevolent chill down my spine slowly starts descending

Weaker willow weeping and tougher tree trunks all succumbing

To the playful wind’s lighter affections and its wispy waltzing

.

Mirrored epiphanies witnessed, saw washed up mirages of entities

Lost in imagination, exhale on the glass and doodle small fantasies

Adventures occurring on the tip of my fingers, yet sadly easily fading

Before I return to my poetry book, cozy wool socks and duvet hanging

.

A sfumatic skyline, like a halogen haze of pastel paints swirled nonsensically

Hues stark blending, shades violent clashing, but all synthesising perfectly

Shier sun rays cautiously peek out from beneath their fluffy hiding places

Nuanced kisses for lost lingering sunseekers, little vervet golden traces

.

Thumping beats echoing deep from abstract outlines of distant drumlins

Symphony of Sinatra’s crooning coda, ladies and his love serenading

Interlacing silken mists of whispered fog, a show of softer interludes

To accompany the falling twinkle of sapphire raindrops and liquid diamonds

.

Today I’ll be making merry on flowing flumes and floating folded-up paper boats

Won’t you see it sailing under the bridge of rainbow, down the puddle’s one-way course

Today I’m frolicking without a care and having a blissful round of playground games

Indulge and enjoy with sweet-lipped sanguine drizzles and choleric calypso hurricanes.

~*~

Over and over many setting suns
I have run, I have waited for the rain to come
When through that mist, I see the shape of you
And I know, and I know that I’m in love with you…

Danser Sous La Pluie

Another lonely superstar to get away inside your car, take it much too far
Surrender to the brave inside, a lover that another tried; take it too, my ride…

~*~

Your mourning black umbrella lost

In the fluttering harsh dips of wind

But does it even matter, what it cost

If it’s traded for content serenity within

.

Heartbeats lead and gracefully march

Down the lone ghostly ice cream stand

Chilled sweet vanilla, perfect to match

This soft weather’s cool azure demand

.

Blotting back at winking constellations

Just bursting with endless fascinations

So won’t you stretch your pallid hand to me

And we’ll walk down the path of infinity

.

The rain’s simple comforting melody

And your limerent love hallucinations

The sun’s hot rays will not take us today

Another cause for a rowdy celebration

.

Thunder will roar, the sky spilled with grey

But the colourful joyous music is here to stay

So hear me out today, on this drizzling Sunday

And take me out dancing, come what May.

~*~

You don’t have to keep it if it’s mine
Another place maybe another time…
A May December might not be so smart

Arrivals that we wish would not depart…
