vanilla iced coffee (for archer.)

haze of rosy dusk

a quick afternoon nap

dreams about cake

a yawning drowsy cat

.

deeper lilac sprawling

to flood the sky with stars

sketch in colour pencil

now to finish and restart.

sanguine

When everyone you thought you knew
Deserts your fight, I’ll go with you
You’re facing down a dark hall
I’ll grab my light and go with you…

~*~

you kicked up reckless dusk,

and for a moment, time was yours.

i sat on the kerb and wept,

lost in the haze of fog and music,

watching the years go by with

nothing more than flammable illusions

cutting open the stars because you didn’t bleed,

waking up with dead skies because i couldn’t love—

letting the alarms go off hour after hour

but never letting the nightmare end, melting

away into paranoia and humiliation,

red lips a soundless “darling, i’m fucking cold.”

ignorant eyes couldn’t see the last of us

until it’s held at speculated gunpoint…

do you have to cross the start of the horizon

before they could see that you’ve died?

do i have to cross two lines off my hand

before i could ever try to live?

~*~

And go with you, I’ll go with you
I’ll go with you, I’ll go with you, yeah
Stay with me, no, you don’t need to run
Stay with me, my blood, you don’t need to run…

tipsy musical notes

So I take the long road to think and wonder
Why I can’t sleep with all this sunlight
If there’s still evidence of us
Why can’t that be enough?

~*~

five a.m. serenades

with a smile that’s built

on the colour of dawn

and a soul that’s stabbed

with voodoo needles

crying blood in the distance

screaming out the name

that it shall nevermore have

annihilating love begging

please, please, please

darling bring me back all

my quagmire stars and

never leave me stranded at

the back of your head

oh darling, please stay away

and fucking come closer

.

five a.m. serenades torturing

spinning the rotary arteries

nonreciprocal delusions

hurting me so fucking much

the cyanide in my tongue

begging please, please, p l e a s e

drown me in the madness

murder the blue moon again

to make me lust for more of dusk

and darling, oh please, please

please don’t depart this brainsick heart

without a final limerent requiem

ending with our mishap beginnings

and shove sunlight in my lungs

to keep me barely breathing

so i could feel your pain some more.

~*~

I’m guiding your chin to my lips
Using only my fingertips
All we have are parking lots and nowhere to go
If you love me, then show me more…

Dear Divine Angel

In the morning, hear all the birds sing
It never stops, then, with tears in your eyes
You smiled dressed in coppertone tan lines
Oh, oh, I hope you don’t regret me…

~*~

The faint blush of the morning presents itself

In throes of sunlight and distant reverie

Clouds faltering against the cerulean horizons

Blots of floral spectres, a firmament fantasy

Where were your wings hiding in that fated summer?

Cotton feathers beating against the misted dusk

Hazy in dryads and skirls of falling zephyr

Precipitation from your eyelids ascending from rust

My divine angel, are you bedless yet again?

Gravity defying stars, constellation against heaven

Blooming victims of your violent delights

Splashing around scarlet blood within the snow

The shattered pieces of the diamond-writ sky

Burning out the match between my fingertips glow

Living in a digital galaxy that doesn’t exist

Of our never-ending anthems drowning to transmit

Coppertone static, your veil and mercury ring

Pens of neon twinkle moons accentuate your ‘darling’

Let’s pretend the clocks aren’t stricken with asthma

A heart attack to wake me up under comatosed dysthymia

Enigmatic and mysterious in worn-out outlines

Starlings swoop lost over the desert, but perhaps we’ll be fine

Pink pills under my pillow, sugar against bitter chemicals

Cynical affinity, please save me from their withdrawals

Sing me a piercing melody of pastel red and washed-out white

And paint intertwining chalcedony roses on my graphite ceiling tonight

Darling, I’m aware that I shall never be your personal admission

Your darker brushstroke version, your jacaranda circulation

But as midnight appears to coalesce in dawn’s daybreak gloom

Your twilight lips are mine, dear divine angel, don’t fly away too soon.

~*~

And it won’t be long till we drop this match
When I burn to your fingertips, you can throw what’s left
So long, let’s go and play those games you like
Let’s go and play those games you like…

Counting Calendar Months

Dear last July
You once were heavy
But now I lift you
Over my head like a feather…

~*~

Tell me where I can find

Beating August wings

Under a starry June’s sea

On a December evening snow

Writing letters to dear July

When February strikes its arrow

Into my falling autumn October heart

As my birthday dusk Marches on

And April daisies sing my song

November dreams may haunt me

But I’ll wake in September end quietly

May I never miss the summer days

As I watch the fireworks on a new January.

~*~

I’ve never been one for chasing
Stars in the starry night
It just seems too easy
I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be
Fine when you want me
Yeah, for the last time…

Fire on the Horizon

Above our heads, a splash of vivid colours and tinges of muted hue

Tiger stripes on canary lights and blushes of scarlet ruby too

Cotton candy clouds streaked generously on the infinite navy canvas

As the pretty strawberry ribbons tie itself onto periwinkles that encompass

Blazing fire on the horizon, the dusk’s last chromatic kisses to this afternoon’s sun set

A stunning memorial to another great day as silver and obsidian knit their midnight blanket.

Cosmic Trailblazing

~*~

Auroras touch my soul with limerence

Its nebulae touching my eyes, unknown

Glowing with utter incandescence

Like glimmering bubbles carefully blown

Iridescent, flowing with chromaticity

And yes, only ephemeral, sadly.

~*~

I’m sondering in solitude

Tasting the petrichor, the smell of grass

As luminescence passes slowly by

The planets in syzygy onto the sky

Serenity, comforted by the ethereal light

The darkness around me, yet enflames my heart alight.

~*~

Dusk kisses the skies, twilight set

Painting a kaleidoscopic sunset

The world turns tenebrific, yet worry not

For the moon and the universe blazes hot

Let the constellations bid you a safe goodnight

And tomorrow the dawn shall be your delight.

~*~

Bask upon the heavenly stars, you infer

And serendipity just might occur

A fleeting shooting star graces on by

So you whisper a wish, and bid your goodbyes

And perhaps, just perhaps, it’ll whisper back an epiphany

A secret of the universe, so oblivion you could no longer see.

~*~

I’m caged in an entropic, caliginous wormhole

You spread your wings and dash freely by

My angel, I breathe your name, I scream and call

And yet all you could do is watch and cry

But someday, I’ll break free, and you’ll hazard a trip inside

And together we’ll dissolve into the event horizon side by side.

~*~
