Losing Oxygen

Every famous blunt excuse

That left scuffs on the soles of your shoes

A three-dimensional dementia

Escaping with a bloodied insignia

The air feels solid; just another futile reach

Of what is unhinged and rusted away

Nuanced flares, serendipitous glimpses

Desperation worth what you needed to say

Push and pull at the faulty gravity

As the swelling throats, unable to scream,

Still sing until dehydration and reverie

Now transcending into an angel’s bad dream.

Out Of My Mind

“Nobody wants to hear you
Cry about your breakup, so drop it.”
Well, that’s fine too because
I’m fucking sick of talking about it
Let’s talk about shows and ghosts
And shows and clothes…

~*~

beat me green and blue

until my eyes have tunnel vision

nobody wants to hear me

shed bullets and load ammunition

as the screws in my head

are just twisted too tight to be right

and you can spin it around

and around, but you’ll lose the fight

utter an overplayed excuse

i know i look like a burst drained pipe

and i mix up cryptic words

so you can’t tell or tread on which side

and i’m the human definition

of infinite futility and endless frustration

acting upside down and under

over and over like a patience in remission

so beat me up in black and grey

until my porcelain skin turns deathly pale

i’ll send my wretched self home

at least one of us lived to tell the tragic tale.

~*~

See, I’m like you without good moods and
My cave’s my room where I’ll cave too
Yeah, I’m like you without good moods
And you’ll be sorry when you come to…

Praying for Artillery

Staring at the carnage
Praying that the sun would never rise
Living another day in disguise
These feelings can’t be right
Lend me your courage to stand up and fight…

~*~

Another timeline

Of anarchists

Next in line

To the pacifists

Veins taut strung

In severed struggle

By a nerve hung

On a concrete hell

The battle wages

As artillery collides

Soldier skin ages

The war overrides

As faint cries ricochet

With flying bullets

Penetrating humanity

A full metal jacket

Casualties go nuclear

And the end decrees

All that’s left are

Shrapnel and debris

Black radio mourns

And flags are burned

A somnolent horn

Bloody backs turned

Another timeline

Of both futile armies

Attempting to define

The lost meaning of peace.

~*~

Fight for honor, fight for your life
Pray to God that our side is right
Even though we won, I still may lose
Until I make it home to you…

Vous êtes mon étoile.

You are my star

In a city of fog and smoke

Pushing stubborn past the haze

And you fill me up with sweet hope

.

You are my star

Ever radiant and gleaming

Your twinkle softly singing

Yellow diamond scintillating

.

You are my star

In a valley of sheer darkness

Mind not the silver cold moon

You call attention amidst the gloom

.

You are my star

Beauty, splendour never rivalled

Your blazing warmth set just right

Kissing me sweet dreams every night

.

You are my star

Raison d’être, my cause for existence

Without you in this vast universe

There’ll be chaos and dissidence

.

You are my star

Glorious, yet futilely too distant

Though I try and wage my luck often

My chances are empty-handedly scant

.

You are my star,

And I jump so high to reach you

Try to fly high above to meet you

But I know that I’ll never catch you

And I will forever be beneath you.
