Febfair

Pondering all alone

Sitting with cold grass

Between curled fingers

And unfinished coffee

Making lips quite sticky

My unplugged earphones

Afraid to make sounds

.

Myriad stands flickering

With flashes of neon colours

Selling dresses and candy

And music and rowdy revelry

But just tell me, Mr. Vendor

Please, where can I buy

Someone to walk with tonight?

.

The crowds passing by

Friends, family, familiarity

Cheering, laughing, enjoying

When there is none for me

Surrounded by old strangers

White noise for humming ears

White noise for sad eyes

White noise in my tired mind

.

From thinking about eternities

Until there is nothing but space

Lost and loved and lost again

An unsent greeting hovering

Anxiety creeping and crawling

As I patiently wait for a person

Who doesn’t even exist at all.

western trees

The silhouettes, they play the part
Their east coast digs are works of art
But the sickness sleeps inside our bones
With solipsistic overtones…

~*~

oh, how quiet the songs

of the western trees impede

amid soft tantrum of the breeze

and falling taffeta leaves

dislimn the topaz rays that glaze

when the sun adores its haze

and transforms honeysuckle brie

drops that reach your eyes so sweet

as pastel flora invites neon grass

and twines of hurtful weeds that pass

for an interlude on clement grudges

and a chance to altogether flourish

the kismet that kisses skins and knees

bruised blackcurrants and peonies oblique

tasting just like lemonade lunette

as the campanile rings out for sunset

oh how lulling, these summer songs

of the western trees’ symphonies

amid hums and chirps of solstice cicadas

and falling hearts resting at ease.

From the burbs’ to the streets now, it’s a revival
The spirit is found in the idealistically idle
The age of excess, I just love it…

Nature’s Dulcet Tones

RAINBOW RUNNER

Pulled onto the sky

By last tears of silken clouds

Ribbon of colours.

MOTHER NATURE’S DRESS

Upon where we step

Flowers, trees, plants, blossoming

Earth; Nature’s soft skin.

FIELD OF DREAMS

On the ground I lie

Blades of grass, shamrock so deep

Guide me into sleep.

NAUTICAL NONSENSE

Splashing and crashing

The water scintillating

Waving you goodbye.

~*~

MOONBEAMS

Sphere with a dark side

Gleaming white teeth grinning down

What does your smile hide?

THE LAST DAYS OF WINTER

Glaring sun perched proud

Buds of green as it melts, thaws;

Winter’s bone-white snow.

FIREFLY

Fireflies will guide you

In the valley of darkness

Stars below the skies.

SUMMER SNAPSHOTS

Tepid weak-willed winds

Ice cream melting by the pool

Sluggish lazy bones.

LITTLE RAINDROP

See it falling down

Hear it splash, a tranquil sound

Bye, little raindrop.

UNDERGROUND HEAVEN

I plant little stars

In the hope that they would spring

Into dazzling hope.
