Catastrophic Demarcation

Go wreck the clean air for me

And replant some darker green

The kind that runs the world

The one you sought to destroy

With cigarette spewing factories

And cold corporate handshakes

And mass hysteria ignorance

.

Go and poison my faucet drip

With more than bitter chlorination

And occasional sediments of rust

The kind that snakes highly-resistant

Prions right into my better sense

And chokes away all my optic nerves

Into the brink of utter blindness

.

Let me taste all our past and future mistakes

And pay for humanity’s most heinous crimes

For we all deserve imminent hell, don’t we now?

The kind that boils civilisation down to ashes

And piles up bleached bones for the scavengers

Cause if you heed requests from dying machines

Their toxic wasteland will be all that’s left of us.

Parts Missing

You’ve got a mouth like a running motor

And a family of mismatched gears, grinding

And gnashing furiously against rusted teeth

Shrieking, careening, holding sanity hostage

Turning all of your consolidated wrongs into

Your own personal brand of justified bullshit

As the rest of your brainwashed system starts

Automatically nodding along in pure assent

Necks pulled up, snapped limp, dangling in

Blank-slate eyes masking their lifeless cries

Idiots imitating your inescapable idiosyncrasies

I would hate to be blunt but maybe they deserve it

And the clamorous crashing of metal only sounds like

Music to your own bleeding ears, deafened by the violence

So spare me the pretence of a well-oiled dynamic, will you?

Because unlike them, I’m not one of your damaged fucking machines.

Come, Morning Light

The fire that left your blanket in ashes

Won’t trouble your cold heart anymore

And the angels that carried your parents

Will not return to take your heart to soar

.

As your little grey ragdoll sits by the ruins

Of the playground you once called “home”

And the shadows that used to play with you

Have disappeared, and now you feel so alone

.

Your tears have mixed with the relentless rain

That put out the wild flames alighting the city

Blossoms wilt and thorns flourish in the grass

The bloodred sunset is more scary than pretty

.

Your brother and sister went off with toy guns

And never returned even after they all promised

So now you sit by the orphanage’s cellar stairs

With others who lost their mummies and daddies

.

Are you alone in this world of detritus and rust?

Every light is killed with a dropping bomb again

Death is your lullaby, quiet music behind the dust

Faithless, will there be someone to save you then?

.

But no, don’t you cry now behind that gas mask

I’ll keep you safe from all the questions unasked

I’ll sing you a song, as this sky falls in fragments

Shield you with my wounded arms from the glass

.

Please don’t fear, you will never have to be hungry

You might dream of hell but heaven is yours to see

Asphalt grey and storms of gloom, as wind billows

Muffle every disaster, sleep soundly in your pillow

.

The war was never meant to be fought by innocence

Just machines to tear apart and men with losing sense

To your damaged soul, fettered with doubts and fears

No one will hurt you now…you’ll be alright, I promise

.

Someday the battle will end, and hope shall soon arrive

We can’t take back what’s lost, but we can change our lives

Open your eyes when the sun returns to shade the dawn

To see the rising daybreak where all your nightmares are gone.

¡Viva Las Vegas!

A pretty picture but the scenery is so loud
A face like heaven catching lighting in your nightgown
But back away from the water, babe, you might drown
The party isn’t over tonight (lighting in your nightgown)
Hey, where will you be waking up tomorrow morning?
Hey, out the backdoor, goddamn but I love her anyway!

~*~

Don’t wipe off your embalmed makeup just yet

I adore you sweetheart, I’ll kiss you for a bet

Poise and irrationality’s the poison of the victim

A pretty covert movie with the lighting dim

.

Memories of a fading twisted tongue collide

Sophistication sliding off the laudanum side

And all the girls at night are making me sweat

And the boys cheer me with wolf calls of respect

.

Empty bottles of gin, dribbling off your chin

The Vegas lights are burning, all-in, and I win

Snatches of conversations swim past my ears

Saline and formaldehyde of cascading tears

.

So say what you mean, and don’t be afraid

This city is yours, take the applause you paid

It’s history, the avenue and boulevard is lined

And they’re all aching to dissect your mind

.

Every perspective approaches home so near

Nicotine stains, champagne, and stench of fear

Hijack my medal eyes and render me numb

Replace the lens of the camera, pop your gum

.

Forget the nightly cabaret, the burlesque shame

The motel room you rented absolves the blame

Dust away the contrite asbestos off your waistcoat

The caricature masks are ready for the grand show

.

We’re decomposing arrogantly in beautiful quiet messes

Girls dancing in white dresses, formidable men with roses

Foreign deaths alluding veracity, chaotic hurricane storms

Velvet lips sealed under the threat of sin, smiling in scorn

.

This night we will sink so low, so wash me away and drop the anchor

Waltzing along with secret admirers and falling asleep on a stranger

It’s a sensation in Viva Las Vegas, a scandal of grandiloquent galantine

So sit back and drink your daiquiris, you’re in for a surprise of romantic machines.

~*~

Climbing out the back door, didn’t leave a mark
No one knows it’s you, Miss Jackson
Found another victim, but no one’s gonna find
Miss Jackson, Jackson, Jackson…

selfish machines

darling, you

lust never to feel

but with that

tortured soul

of yours,

you tragically

never will

darling, you

crave not to feel

a damn thing

but shame

if you don’t,

’cause I love

the songs you sing.

Marital Machines

Tell me now, I know
That it just won’t stop
You will find your flow
When you go robot…

~*~

For now I’ll question what this is about

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

Our system was complex, a tangle of red wires

You refused to be binary, a programmed liar

.

For now I’ll stall my grinding clockwork mouth

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

And I’m s-s-stuttering my computed convictions

When you’re switching, wasting my prior restrictions

.

For now I’ll stifle my careful calculated pouts

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

Tongues pour crude oil and sugar, but not a sound

I can sense this l-l-love affair is a battleground

.

For now I’ll withhold all my [g]oogled doubts

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

I’ll update you on the latest version of your l-l-lies

And the experts say I don’t hurt, just byte

.

For now, my high voltage CPU overheats a lot

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

My visual goggles seem to be badly leaking

Your accusatory fingers are clicking and p-p-pointing

.

For now I’ll plug into a safer route

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

You were wired with implanted ab-ab-abjudications

You called me nuts and bolted with geared emotions

.

For now I’ll s-s-steal some pixelated 8-bit clouts

Let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

Your sloppy affections at the wrong time, the wrong place

I’ll retrieve my composure, desire your asphyxiated grace

.

For now I’ll be speaking boldly, volume rising aloud

L-l-let’s talk it out, let’s talk it out

My word stream is unstable, a data-mosh of praying

Perhaps you’ll have the sanctum’s version 0.1 aging

.

For now I’ll signal an alarming blowout

Let’s talk it out, let’s t-t-talk it out

You were electric, and you overloaded my circuits

But technicalities aside, you were but a v-v-virus

.

For now, for now, you won’t backup, and my process is going south

L-l-let’s talk it out, let’s t-t-talk it out, le-le-let’s t-t-talk it o-o-out

Analysis shows I can take your micro cheap tricks no longer

Warning! Data error! System failure! Shut down or recover?

I want to thank you
And spank you upon your silver skin
Robots don’t care where I’ve been
You’ve got to choose it to use it
So let me plug it in
Robots are my next of kin…
