For My Wanderer

Mine lasting light, mine lasting dream

Pray take this bliss upon thy skin

And with it, kiss thine parting brow

Forever then, forever now

Though angels scorn thy weeping face

‘Tis mine to love in purest gaze

Though hell speaks wrong in solemn tides

Thou art the blue of mine lost night

.

Mine lasting light, mine lasting dream

Pray take this bliss and hold within

A thousand kiss upon thine lips

Forever then, forever seeks

Though heaven scorns thy soft embrace

‘Tis mine to love, and mine to grace

Though devils curse in listless tongues

Thou art mine blue, thou art mine sun.

Monsoon Wish

Just two days after the first of June
A pine with arms brushing off the dew
Unlike a sky copious with death
Precipitation of heart and head
Should wash the rest of her youth away…

~*~

Hey rain, ain’t you simply so sweet?

I’ve got a dollar on my heart and a nickel on my teeth

You’re unpredictable, I’m unreliable

Weave me a liquid chandelier from northern downfalls

I’ve got an amethyst dream memory

Such limitations are for not my pseudonymous reveries

And I watch them on my windowsill

Rewinding June’s finesse, as my lukewarm coffee spills

.

Hey rain, ain’t you simply so sweet?

I’ve got a song on my heart and ten albums on my teeth

Dedicated to you, an ode for evergreen

As each quavering soul begins to feel your sapphire skin

My bedroom is cold, a frostbite cinema

Forte crescendo of wooden floorboards, a classic wisteria

My breaths are cadenced, silence unsung

Hey rain, won’t you spare me a little sugar for my tongue?

~*~

Our days spent crossed out of Sunday school
July has always been shy of June
Some monsoon, monsoon, monsoon
Come heavy of a golden hue
My monsoon monsoon, monsoon…

Odes And Dedications

I’d write you a million letters

You left me at a loss for words

Halfway around the world, yet

You stole my breaths unfurled

.

I’ll compose until my hands ache

And my quill protests ‘no more’

Until I dried up all the ink I have

And literates stop keeping score

.

I’d write you in ballads and sonnets

Limericks, haikus, and silly rhymes

I’d write you odes and lengthy epics

That shall withstand the test of time

.

And all the troubadours and minstrels

Will speak of your name for centuries

Immortalised between yellowing pages

Of prose and verse and lines of poetry

.

I’d write you a million novels and books

‘Til I run out of words to use in every language

And even then, it still won’t fully express

Just how much you truly made this bard change.

øde from a bøy øn the hørizøn

my darling california,

you’re my

mysticism queen

the bottles of

stardust exquisite

you held within

alluvial soft,

sulphurous seas

in your veiled scrim

against greying

dishwater skylines,

you’re my sunlight gleam.

Avrill

Your efflorescent bloom

Air shyness of carnation

Light up planetary gloom

Of my fickle dissolutions

When my number’s up, fly

And my quill trickles tears

You dispel them and edify

An emollience of my fears.

The Marauders’ Ode

The dead of the night in whispers “I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good”

Four friends quietly remark elatedly under the invisibility cloak’s hood

Thin ink lines appear in the parchment, and a complex map will unfold

A clever little foolproof trick that only they’ll be able to use and decode

Four friends on the wildest adventure, breaking rules and breaking ennui

Mad marauders making magical mischief and the messiest of melody

The untold heroes with the bravest hearts, silent legends in the academy

And they won’t cease with their fun, mischief-making, and camaraderie

Moony, Padfoot, Prongs, and Wormtail are out to take the world on a rampage

And afterwards, when lumos turns to nox, they return, and…mischief managed.

The Beast Below

A gargantuan soul, species the very last of its kind

A body of peach and golden intention in its mind

A lonely old heart, yet with a nature quite gentle

Despite our cruelty, carried still the burden it fell

Further deep down, where its love has sustained

The dreams we keep and the world we remained

We sleep sound, and breathe easy, and we thus grow

Live on, rest calm, supported by the benevolent beast below.

Viridian Gaze

You have the warmest eyes of glittering jade

And scintillating sparkles of asterism emeralds

But, more precious than any gemstone made

Because it holds motley stories yet to be said…

.

It’s like the chartreuse grass by my ankles

Tickling my every giggling whimsical fancy

Sluggish summer, in the bright farm fields

On a soft valley of lush growth and verdancy

.

It’s like a fractal ray of the mellowest sunlight

Passing through a crystal glass of absinthe

Little green fairy floating ever so daintily

Flowing into your liquid fragile pair of iris

.

It’s like that little hint and sharp tang of lime

That rests ever nicely on my pink tongue

Or a lone dark olive that’s left at the bottom

Of an empty martini glass at an after-hours run

.

It’s like hot tea served on a bleak rainy day

Relaxing your frazzled brittle gloomy nerves

Or a refreshing sweet mint to cool the mouth

And to soothe your twitchy broken words

.

It’s like a bright shamrock-splashed parade

On Saint Patrick’s Day, filled with sheer fun

And as lucky as a picked four-leaf clover

And as happy as a dancing ginger leprechaun

.

It’s like frothy waves of seafoam splashed

By the shores of a desolate sunset beach

And the message in a bottle that it washes up

Just a quaint mysterious unopened treat

.

A beautiful colour of balance, growth, a colour showing creativity and creation

Green shades clashing, entwining, dotting flecks of brown, grey, and hazel

No wonder I lose myself in depths of new worlds, lost in limerent emotion

When I catch myself in your viridian gaze and into your prismatic green eyes I stare.
