Doses of Quintessence: Pozione

~*~

DELIZIOSO

Embrace me in your finessed sophistication

Of my darling soligatto’s donna solmization

Filaments of belletristic novellas and artistry

My erudition tastes like cilantro of cuisinery.

~*~

CREPUSCOLO

I am just a germane alluvial painter

With no colours left tinctured on the canvas

My parlance haunted by the fenders

Of my wayward echelon monochrome past.

~*~

FIORI

Shades splashed on soft silken geranium

A shower of pastels and falling pelargonium

Lily agaphanthus and rhododendron sets

These floral girls of mine, my bonny cossets.

~*~

PASSEGGIATA

Oh, such verdancy of chocolates and hearts

Frolic in field of stars where dreams restart

In a box where I’ll keep all my secret flowers

May shall be my repose, the meteor showers.

~*~

MOZZAFIATO

Our lagniappe paradise was arcadian, tranquil pure

Ignominy but an epithet, shunned midnight vesture

But alas! the timorous beasts that troubled our past

Consumed for a comeuppance and caught up at last.

Paradise Under the Moonlight

In the night, the stormy night
She closed her eyes
In the night, the stormy night
Away she’d fly…

~*~

Into the dark

Where no marks trace elegant

Soft shafts

Of moon past starry eye scant

I didn’t expect

The glitter dancing on my skin

But I love how

They twirl and glow among kin

Wind chimes

I lost myself in the paper garden

In the closet

And I will explore it all over again

The crevasse

Of the blood red moon convolute

It’s so beautiful

Like a melody on a bamboo flute

This planet, it’s

Merely spinning, never breathing

And it’s time to

Remove the blindfold of oxygen

I can’t fly with

Gravity ripping all my hope apart

I can’t swim in

Sulphur seas and broken hearts

So instead I’ll

Wear the colours on my sleeves

And leap out

From the mirror’s edge to leave

I will run away

For another chance at paradise

Don’t find me

‘Cause you can only enter twice.

~*~

And dreamed of
Para, para, paradise
Para, para, paradise
Para, para, paradise
Every time she closed her eyes…

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

there’s rest stops

and sweet shops

and turnpikes round the bend

there’s full cups

and empty taps

and cheers for ingénue bartend

there’s star luck

and moon rocks

and southern constellations wend

there’s quaint hops

and full stops

but the serendipity truly never ends.

★ let ☆

♫•*¨*•.¸¸♪

let the colourful sails

change their course

with the zephyrs’

fickleness force

let the blood flow

down your arms

and expel the

witch’s charms

let someone change

your rotoscoped life

into perspectives

of vivacity blithe

let the dark stay

where they are but

harvest the lights you

can seek and spot

let the letters be sent

onto a newborn day

and let the dawn melt

to fade the hues of grey.

The Practicality of the Jester

Never have I seen the tides fortuned with mine faith

Going to the left wing aisle to bid my time and wait

To the bespoke with pinstripe clothes, pray humility

Give a beggar and a vagrant hope for the humanity

You tip your hat as you please, to those raconteurs

Up akin zeppelins of silver, spin the boots with spurs

Never have I heard the songs operatic on a Wurlitzer

Going against postmodernism, hipsters to beleaguer

To the million letters of button beanies and trilby hat

Let the masses play hooky with classes, challenge what

You ride the bandwagon but you honk the horn solemnly

Down, miners frenzied for Californian gold and individuality

Never have I spoke another lie as truer as now I dare to purvey

Going for the magnum opus of the planet, roll the dice and play

To the tightwads and the prodigals, to all the dukes and hazards

Run with colours of the banner and chainmail armour for awards

Around the orbit, around the sun, around the rings of Saturn none

And you hurtle with the speed of a turtle, faster than a loaded gun

Desert all that frivolity, be the fool and the cool on the fresh April first

You rick and roll, never give it up, so drink the ocean to sate your thirst.

Southwestern Rose

Journeys on your ebony car

Energy of a million fair stars

Neverland awaits Peter Pan

Spirited Texas boy, have fun

Ebullient in bowlegged steps

Nexus of freckled smiley lips

Aspirations, within you it lies

Cherry soul and emerald eyes

Kindness of vivace perception

Love of life, ardent inspirations

Ever young at heart, Texas boy

Sage as you bring hope and joy.

And if the skies be full of gloom
Let the rain then touch your feet
Let it soak and make you cool
Let the flowers have their feast…

Heroes sometimes

Come in trickles of

Soft soothing water

Celestial teardrops

On the windowpane

My calming mentor

Saving me from my

Demons, teaches of

Tranquility’s power

Taut nerves unravel

My heartbeat going

Softer, even slower

As a wind whistles

Its merry melodies

Synesthetic colour

And chilly puddles

Bloom rainbows in

Grey skies fervour

I taste the reveries

Petrichor comforts

And my eyes flutter

My soul transcends

I rest my tired bones

On this rainy weather.

Oh, oh, oh
Little raindrop
Listen to the rain…

Nostalgic Reveries

You take the verboten words I never have the viscera to say

But often feels like a bullet shrapnel lodged within my mind

And you confess out loud, in full colour, that entire gory story

Of the thorned ivy vines with which my heart’s intertwined

Laughing melancholically about our ancient glory days

When the heavy graphite clouds don’t disrupt the haze

When our kaleidoscope eyes had verdant hopes to tell

When this entire planet and everyone else can go to hell

Candy wrappers and earphone cords make life sweeter

And for once, I indulge in a meal that doesn’t taste bitter

And we vent in juxtapose, transgression side by side

But glad to see that we’re still holding on in this crazy ride

Yet father time is thread worn, glimmering hours nascent

Every liquid drop of scintilla minute’s drizzle feels heaven sent

Oh, I sorely wish it didn’t have to be this way, my old friend

But our homes are wayward, I wish this day would never end

Yet lost faith may be rekindled opalescently whenever it kills

And all of you make me believe in credence that there is still

Something in this puerile, damned mess of a deformed world

That’s worth raising my sword for, that it’s a game worth fighting for.

Luftballon

Hast du etwas Zeit für mich
Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich
Von ninety-nine Luftballon
Auf ihrem Weg zum Horizont…

~*~

This night persists to rest

Obscured and obsolescent

Wishes not to disturb, lest

It allay tantrum firmament

My rubious balloon tribute

A floating helium dalliance

Soft kisses of my cynosure

For our dulcet forbearance

May be a fugacious felicity

Of my vestigial woebegone

Yet embrace my propinquity

From that cherry red balloon.

Starless Night

From the Ancient Gods I stole a golden and silvery bow

And aimed for the pale lunarian orb with a lithium arrow

Hoping to fetch back from the sky even just a shred, a scintilla of twilight

.

Instead what I’ve pierced was Helios’s incandescent diadem

Glowing brightly in a tangerine-pink pulse, a crystalline gem

Its resplendence burning a hole through the darkness of my starless night.
