Drizzles and Hurricanes

Ocean blue, what have I done to you?
Cut so deep, yet growing through and through—
I built a hive, became one with the bees
But we fell like rain, got lost into the sea
If I don’t know, the wind will carry me
So just hold tight…

~*~

Poured cups of brewed coffee and steeped steaming darjeeling

The warmth in my soul swift spreading, quite a satisfying feeling

Cotton clouds burst, sudden downpour of trickling shallow streams

Spray shower knocking against my windowsill, eluding my daydreams

.

Northeast zephyr blowing unexpected fast without a spoken warning

The benevolent chill down my spine slowly starts descending

Weaker willow weeping and tougher tree trunks all succumbing

To the playful wind’s lighter affections and its wispy waltzing

.

Mirrored epiphanies witnessed, saw washed up mirages of entities

Lost in imagination, exhale on the glass and doodle small fantasies

Adventures occurring on the tip of my fingers, yet sadly easily fading

Before I return to my poetry book, cozy wool socks and duvet hanging

.

A sfumatic skyline, like a halogen haze of pastel paints swirled nonsensically

Hues stark blending, shades violent clashing, but all synthesising perfectly

Shier sun rays cautiously peek out from beneath their fluffy hiding places

Nuanced kisses for lost lingering sunseekers, little vervet golden traces

.

Thumping beats echoing deep from abstract outlines of distant drumlins

Symphony of Sinatra’s crooning coda, ladies and his love serenading

Interlacing silken mists of whispered fog, a show of softer interludes

To accompany the falling twinkle of sapphire raindrops and liquid diamonds

.

Today I’ll be making merry on flowing flumes and floating folded-up paper boats

Won’t you see it sailing under the bridge of rainbow, down the puddle’s one-way course

Today I’m frolicking without a care and having a blissful round of playground games

Indulge and enjoy with sweet-lipped sanguine drizzles and choleric calypso hurricanes.

~*~

Over and over many setting suns
I have run, I have waited for the rain to come
When through that mist, I see the shape of you
And I know, and I know that I’m in love with you…

Indomitable.

Target on my back, lone survivor lasts
They got me in their sights
No surrender no, trigger fingers go
Living the dangerous life…

~*~

My dearest nemesis, with your mad scientists and crazy schemes

In this endless battle laid out for two, you are highly passionate, it seems

In a high-stakes race against the other, you think I will easily stumble

But your pride is also your weakness, for I’m practiced and I’ll never crumble

.

Try to tear and rip me down just like an old peeling paper poster

Throw my momentum off in this crazy rickety ride on a rollercoaster

Dare to shoot me down with your sharp lethal arrows ever flaming

But fighting fire with fire ain’t always right, because I’ll keep on burning

.

Because I’m invincible, uncontrollable, I’m a raging, roaring, wild monster

So don’t try to stop me now with your darts and measly tranquillisers

Bring me down into derision, but I’ll rise from the grey ashes stronger

Beat me up into submission, and I’ll stick the torture out even longer

.

I’m that blinking stubborn red light smiling in the midst of the choking dark

When you stomp madly on the dying hearth, I’m that small resilient spark

Toss me with hurricanes, shake me with your earthquakes, up to scale seven

Throw me into hell’s perdition and pull me away from my cloud nine heaven

.

You think you have guts of glory, perseverance made of pure steel

You think you won’t give up, but guess what? I know I never will

You wish to see my heart flatline? For my soul’s ardent life to flicker and die?

You want to see my immortal hope to fade away? Then I’d like to see you try.

~*~

Shot like a rocket up into the sky
Nothing could stop me tonight…

Lost for the Earth (Terra Incognita)

The earth is silent yet listening, its newborn dewdrops glistening

Hear my lungs fervidly breathing, slowest softest oxygen inhaling

Smoky fog against the glass, let candy crystal dragonflies pass

Grazing against the jade-encrusted grass, insects now don’t be crass

Fabulous not emulous, elegance and jubilance destined to me

Asterisks of yellow stars, velvety chocolate skies, asterim so pretty

Fire and ice, snowcaps cover the lies, asteroids fall like blazing hail

Along chirping twirling ceaseless flying starlings and nightingales

An ocean bloom, a lonely doom, a peacock’s kaleidoscopic plume

A gossamer cloud born against the midnight morn, water kissing flume

Lost wandering and travelling yet worry not your sake unravelling

Distance is no nuisance when peaceful tranquillity is clamouring

They have come but slowly gone, lose that cynical vitriol perpetual

Bring back the rarest essences of ruby quintessence flowing elliptical

Listen to the sound of the pouring rain patter against your brain, the symphonic sheen

And bask in the glory of nature, raw and verdant orchestrating, unmuffled by clanking machines.

Stardust

~*~

“The nitrogen in our DNA. The calcium in our teeth. The iron in our blood. The carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff.” ~Carl Sagan

~*~

Shooting stars watch me fall apart

And clothe me in the great yellow sun

Dance on a boulevard of broken hearts

Sparkling shards of my regretted fun

Dashing comets spun around the clock

Chasing off Time’s ceaseless wails

Asteroids in collision course with rocks

Running after their own scorching tails

Lace my DNA with the nebula’s love

Genes of intoxicating nitroglycerine

My fingertips sends their best regards

To the Northern Lights waving between

Negative particles nibbling at the dark

Hungry midnight devouring the light

But worry not for there’s always a spark

That gives it a stomachache and fights

The universe grows in a mad blaze of glory

Won’t you hear out my quaint sacrifice?

Bored galaxies don’t care much for my story

Humans are but creatures of early demise

For what are we compared to their stellar gears

But some wispy aches and sinews of skin?

Astral plains have shed marvellous tears

Yet we’re but without fates floating within

But just as stars will collapse and embrace

And our old ivory bones will creak and rust

Like everything in this infinite soul of space

We all must revert to stardust.

Skies of Grey

Rainy ends flurried from the north wind, the horizon’s soft sunny veneer has disappeared

Viridian planet cries for a slow demise, but for its dark calm and rest, I have wished to sleep

My cosmonautic mind explores the abridged rainbows and golden treasure yonder deep

Skies of grey to no cause today, charcoal skies to keep; cotton clouds I ask, why do you weep?

Senseless

The taut feeling of endless jubilance

Peach skies and clouds dashed lovely

Lighthearted touch with a dainty dance

As the new borne day awaits patiently

.

The playful tastes of puffed cinnamon

And mellow lip sticky of New York honey

Dripping saccharine onto my tongue

Scarlet cherry pies all sweet and sunny

.

The sounds of lilting and lifting hearts

And hear a tinkling music box melody

Quaint interludes, the coda’s piano part

Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Debussy

.

The beautiful smell of scented souls

Like jasmine, gardenia, and rosemary

Pink perfume playing its perfect role

Soft petals showering ever so flowery

.

The amazing sight of blazing sunset on the horizon

Another sinking day’s clashing orange and crimson glory

But the senses that I have entertained and felt further on

Will always be retained forever in my senseful memory.

Surreptitious

Sneaking out late, o’er here and there

Past the squeaky groan of tired stairs

Past the soft sighs of fluffy carpet floor

Out the boast of the huge oaken door

Into the midnight skies’ open splendour

Dancing shadows of monochrome colour

Past the cold nooks and susurrus dark alleys

And onto the verdant heart of green valleys

Zephyr blowing ever softly without a care

As I arrive on time to my appointed affair

With the silliest of my little secret dates

Of me and the galaxy’s colliding destined fates

Shooting stars hold tight my trembling hand

Silver ribbon of nebula can only understand

So won’t you take me away to that special place

For a drink of the universe’s intoxicating haze

And tomorrow wake up, cosmic hungover

But tended for by the mellow sunlight’s care until I feel better.

June Second’s Bloom

Juni dances jubilantly, by the twisted dark trunks and through the light meadow green

Kicking up a flurrying marvellous tender snow of freshly fallen jacaranda petals

Soft purple rain surrounds her smiling peachy face and her delicate form pristine

A rarest sight certainly prettier than gleaming alexandrite or any other precious metals

Her fiery cotton candy hair billowing against the wind, like a tiny robin’s gentle plume

As lemon sunlight filtered quaintly from the celestial skies into June second’s full bloom.

Carpe Diem

Throw yourself upon this fine day

And seek the darling buds of May

Loving winds do pierce your fragile skin

Let not your soul be fettered within

Listen to Earth’s soft heart beating

Sweet symphony of nature fleeting

The day is waiting for you to seize

Have yourself an adventure and do as you please.

February Heart

February stars
Floating in the dark
Temporary scars
February stars…

~*~

Shoot me another spastic heart

And tales of February stars

They may keep our distance apart

But lead us closer still

.

Lend me a steady hand or two

In building, fixing our cosmos blue

Purple pebbles we throw at the sky

Clouds purify the charlatan lies

.

Take a leap or two at the year

And wooden leaves fall at our fear

Another hedonistic lore we’ll surely share

Connecting us better than physical cares.
