Chocolate Midnight

Painting psychedelic patterns

With an illumined algid breath

Warm dark chocolate decadent

On liquid umber and alabaster

.

Pens, music, and marbles alike

On a taciturn three AM artistry

Not a soul dares make a sound

Only I and my bitter drink stir.

Tissue Sketches #3: cafĂ© chicago

Chicago skylines twirl, a scintillating maid

A distant glow which never seems to fade

Indulge in tastes of saccharine decadence

Flavours myriad dancing, still quite intense

Nocturnal owls hum as the clock strikes eleven

For a whimsical soul, this quaint place is heaven.

Midnight Clear

Sitting by the chartreuse grass, basking on this marvellous midnight clear

With only my little furry canine companion to keep me close and dear

Curiously he sniffles at the soft tawny dirt, lost in a discovering game of trust

As I revel hazily at the ebony tapestry sky, lost in bright showers of fiery stardust

Crickets chirping tranquil lullabies, the cool wind but a smooth whimsy refrain

The dulcet merry tune of harmonic hearts, consonance ringing clear and plain

The calm prelude of peacefulness after a harried day of melancholic exposure

A rare serene night where everything is halcyon and right, nothing more I could ever ask for.

Playful Puddles

Soft raindrops delicately fall

Into your porcelain-white doe eyes

Not salty tears of dark gloom at all

But of pure jubilance and sheer remise

Now all I see are sky blue puddles

In your twinkling bright pair of pupils

And fragile colourful rainbows filled

Mirages flashing, peaceful, distilled.

Misplaced Halcyon

The window glasses restlessly clatter against their loose panes

As the angry slam of doors ajar join in their discordant refrain

The gales of spiraling wind, they scream and howl and roar

As if, to this havoc and mess, they wish to see no more

Litters of papers rustle along as they travel, my only companions

And the choleric pantomime of inanimate objects thus go on

This plangent cacophony of noises ensuing in the empty building hall

And yet, in the midst of all the racket, somehow, I feel the most peaceful.

Peaceful Space

I like Darkness;

His cool breath giving me a slight chill

Yet strangely giving off a spark of comfort

Making me forget about everything else, all the pain I once had

His hands covering my crying eyes

Shutting off this world of discord and chaos

So that I do not have to worry

And there is nothing but the brightly twinkling stars,

And the chirps of the crickets to guide me.

~*~

I am comforted by Silence;

Her soft tranquility cradling me slowly

The slight ringing in my ears,

My ever-beating heart,

And my soothing intake and outakes of breath,

Are all that I could hear.

And there is no screaming, crying, pain, nor confusion

To disturb Her neverending peace.

~*~

But what I really love

Is Darkness and Silence together

When They finally meet and pair up despite Their fates

With my eyes shut down

And my ears drowned out by that white noise

There is absolutely nothing to distract me

So no matter how loud the screams of the demons are

I wouldn’t be able to hear

And no matter how much destruction ensues around me

I wouldn’t even see.
