Ponderings and Preludes V

~*~

ON FALSE HOPE

She thought the shooting stars

Were all just simply for her

But it collided hard with her heart

And left a gaping dark hole.

~*~

ON ELUSIVENESS

Perhaps I’m not the killer

Perhaps I poisoned the wine

Perhaps I wasn’t a stealer

Or perhaps I’m simply lying.

~*~

ON LEARNING THE HARD WAY

I learn my lessons very well

And stab my quill quite hard

Watch the crimson ink swell

Punishment deserved scarred.

~*~

ON TAKING CHANCES

I lost all my hard-earned money

In a bet against your hate

And I’m prepared to bet eternity

If it means I earn your faith.

~*~

ON DEPRESSION

Slam a knife against the wall

They deserve it they deserve—

Echoing screams until you fall

Heard can I please be heard…..

Ponderings and Preludes II

I’m a fly that’s trapped in a web
But I’m thinking that my spider’s dead
Lonely, lonely little life, I could kid myself
In thinking that I’m fine…

~*~

ON RADIANCE

The desolate one

The quiet blue star

Other people are suns

But my shine never reaches far.

~*~

ON MEDICATION

Take me to the pharmacy

So I could buy some energy

Take me to the pharmacy

So I could lose my memory.

~*~

ON MAKING MEMORIES

Polaroids of funny faces

Very different life races

Albums of memories, clear, happy

Shame I’m not in any.

~*~

ON SECRETS

Withheld information

Rumour sensation

Truth be told, never

There wasn’t a single correct answer.

~*~

ON MOVING ON

Hurt yourself by tripping amok

But never on the same rock

Cry until your heart gets better

But don’t keep on sobbing forever.

Ponderings and Preludes

~*~

ON MONSTERS

Roared and rampaged

With sharp claws they yield

Monsters can’t be caged

But they could be killed.

~*~

ON IMPERFECTION

You’re not perfection

That may as well be

But know that I love you

Despite every folly.

~*~

ON STRANGERS

Strangers are scary

You don’t know their thoughts inside

But friends horrify me greatly

Because they know what I hide.

~*~

ON SILENCE

Silence in the library

Words spoken in ebony ink

The only things ever so noisy

Are imaginations that think.

~*~

ON FEELINGS

You fuel my adrenaline

Every intersection I pass

Til I get stranded somewhere unseen

Because I ran out of gas.
