May Is Not Enough For Me To Stop Bleeding

And as the sun went down, we ended up on the ground
I heard the train shake the windows
You screamed over the sound, and as we own this night
I put your body to the test with mine
This love was out of control, 3-2-1 where did it go?

~*~

My wounds cry for you alone

I wish to hell I could stop them

But my body is too out of control

From the thought of your oxygen

As your voice broke over the sound

Of the love that tasted like the skies

All my questions effervesce in evergreen

Heart shaking at the thought you’ll arise

And when you spoke of good intentions

Breaking again from my transgressions

Sorry was enough for you but not for me

As my lost lips faltered at “I’d rather be…”

I can’t own the thousand nights you have

I can’t keep it alone under my key and lock

I can’t collide twice with your perfect world

And all I have is your melting flesh to hold

A million and one miles ain’t enough to bring me home

And my floral pink dreams tear up as I cry for you alone

To where you’re waiting, as your shattered voice stops breaking

Walking as I close my eyes and clot at the thought of never waking.

another complaint from the universe

“Tell me what you want
Until it hurts.”

~*~

hold back my frail hands for me

when they are shaking too badly

my eyes are clouded by your sirens

coming back to hang me in silence

.

i’m way in over my head, but

i couldn’t deny your faux needles

pinning me to irrational devils

.

you whispered of a curse that never

made it past my crumbling curved spine

.

and the last breaths i heard taunted it wasn’t mine.

Escape From Hell

Or would you say that I had a part of it?
Well, I guess we’ll never know
Constant recovery
I see you choke and it takes my breath away
But all is good, we close our eyes
They all accept the lie…

~*~

Now, don’t you dare say I had any part of this

That assault was undisguised and remorseless

When the faces in the mirror melted into ghosts

If I can save our hunger, guess we’ll never know

.

Next up, constantly crossing staler thresholds of recovery

As I bruise my bones, uncertainty slips between my knees

Don’t stop, shaking and breaking against painful demands

And you could make the sugar taste like salt in your hands

.

Before the hearts of the heartless burn down the bloodless

Trapped in the spinning spokes, and crushed in failing tests

Neglect reckless ambivalence, amplify the screaming angels

Elusive degeneration suspended back to a contaminated hell

.

A procession of painkillers parading in my tumescent tongue

From carotid to clavicle, this concussion hits like a blank gun

Treachery will never leave your ears, no matter what the cost

The invalid and confined crawl in damned realms, forever lost

.

Reject habitual vindication, accept their saccharine lies that feed

To the unresponsive eyes craving desperately for what they need

And we’re tangled in this fucking mess our veins will never show

If I’m still innocent, if you could be saved, guess we’ll never know.

~*~

I let you down, and I started to run
Never meant to be your pain
Oh my god, what have I become?
Show me and show me the way back
Show me the way back home!

Beware The Rattlebones

“It was perfectly dark, now, but the opening door disturbed the air, and I heard things rattle gently, like dry bones in thin bags, in the slight wind. Click. Clack. Click. Clack.” ~Trigger Warning; Neil Gaiman

~*~

Beware the rattlebones, my child

Who runs every hallow’s eve in the wild

Beware its sharp teeth and sharper smile

That charms like a flower and bites like a file

Beware the thin fingers and nails of green

The chants of red and whispers of mean

And trifle bones that rattle and shake

As if your own heart, it quivers and breaks

.

Beware the rattlebones, my child

For its soul is black and mind grimmer wild

When the fell night is sparse and serene

It goes click click click through the evergreen

As yonder ravens forebode a shrill cry

Still under ominous mist and past the starless sky

It thus waits, for a wandering victim to walk

Into its precarious winds so the poor one it could stalk

.

Beware the rattlebones, my child

Who treads the forest beyond the wild

As its glowing eyes of blinding white

Shall take you on with such a vicious sight

Beware the inky blood that steadfastly drips

From its mangled dry skin and stretched-out lips

Touch not the roughness of its crackled flesh

Hear not its bloodcurdling cackles, or else

.

Beware the rattlebones, my child

For it lives and breathes not only in the wild

It can sneak up to your bedroom window

And no nightlight nor blanket can make it go

But beware if it visits you as you peacefully repose

For you are chosen to be its supper close

If you do unfortunately meet the rattlebones, child, then

Run like hell, or you’ll become one of them.
