defence mechanism

“be forewarned”

your whispered chagrin

stains my mouth

with perplexed nicotine

.

a spiteful stare

the gaps in my rationality

stolen spare parts

i’m rendered in cataplexy

.

graze my nape

our vascular constriction

but it turned out

to be just a bold distinction

.

to find the switch

and fumble with our sorrows

i’m a clockwork elegy

but i’ll still be here tomorrow.

Gemstones and Constellations

You tried to kiss me through the window
I tried to settle for the taste of touching glass

Over the sound of answering machines
Because I love the way your voice
It says it’s gonna get back to me someday…

~*~

Remember the morning that wept cold stars like winter rain

Diamonds unraveling as they danced against the faded windows

As the pale pink light beneath the horizon left taciturn stains

On the browns and greys of onlooker eyes, barely open with sorrow

Painting a polychrome noir by the griefstricken brush of a god

Seeking those wandering souls that have strayed too far to go back

Piercing glass concealed fallen ashes that traced the broken blood

Like bitter scepticism left locked under closet doors so it won’t distract

Remember the morning that drained nights of their dissonant reverie

As for saving the stars that fell that evening…only a fated few were so lucky.

~*~

And this is gonna be the best day of my life
A celebration of an ending, come on…

Occhiata

Rarer still, the crest of tides

The phantom women dance and bide

Where laughter speaks in ocean waves

And cold mindless solitary graves

Midnight shadows fended and staved

.

Quieter still, the fall of tides

The phantom women sleep and hide

Where sorrow cries in ocean waves

And moonlit fields of dreamless naves

Midnight shadows that can’t be saved.

Pretty Little Thing

Right before you fly you fix the broken wings of
Everything that carries you forward now
Patching up the holes remaining in your word now
I start to question what is real or not, pick apart my every thought
Dig in to a dark place, bury the thought of your face…

~*~

A wish to avoid a blatant lie

To a spine with broken bones

Waiting for retaliation in the

Shape of a forsaken home

.

As mirrors began to whisper

About the drama that unfolded

It all tasted like high tension

Keeping her weak wings faded

.

Fingers forward, burying blame

Twitching petals, her lavish name

Draped in linen, maiden serenity

Masquerading a sorrowful calamity

.

Of an oil painting melting away

In the warmth of this winter fire

Lost palettes ebbing and arching

An abandoned masterpiece dire

.

Grim faces arrested in quiet disgust

As snow fell and tainted mordant black

Onto the pallbearers dressed in drab

Carrying away an eternal chill in her heart.

~*~
Pretty little thing, you know the way to make me weak
But I’ll stand on my own feet
Shame on you for hitting where it most hurts
Shame on me for listening
Pretty little thing, I think you better turn away
My attention is ending…

It All Falls Apart

I wish I could, but I don’t always
Keep the promises I’ve kept
I wish I could, but I can’t always
Give whatever I have left
And now it’s all so clear, doesn’t anyone
See what’s happening here?

~*~

Put me back together, just another plea unheard

Walking away from tragedy, walking with the truth

For elastic tongues can deceive us no longer

Collapsing narcolepsy is a premise for the fervour

.

Time had a deadline, and we’re not built to last

Every time I look back is just a bullet from the past

Reminded of the way it was before the war began

And ended with waste and sorrow, and a broken man

.

The space, the divide, the disconnected furrows

This time as we fired the shots, we made sure to be thorough

Didn’t give me a choice, just a white flag to surrender

Shouting seventh chances from another graceless pretender

.

What could I have done? What would you choose?

I was so ready to give it up, though I didn’t want to lose

What was there to take? Was there anything to fix?

I was paying for my dirty crime with capricious tricks

.

Everything I am, reduced now to what I once was

Blood on my words and on my hands, unremarkable and crass

What can’t be forgiven now lays in a grave so shallow

Who knew that when everything falls apart, it leaves a scar so hollow.

~*~

It falls apart form the very start, it falls apart
Seems like everything I touch falls apart
Everything around me falls apart
When I walk away from you…

You’re No Fun Anymore (You Never Were)

You’re going down the road that’s the same one that we have
We cannot wait to watch life kick you in your ass
I shed a little tear for all of you out there
There’s no way to escape, welcome to hell…

~*~

Oh, so the world doesn’t care about all your pedantic sorrows

Why are you so surprised that the sun will still rise tomorrow?

Clocks wouldn’t hitch their breaths just so you could catch up

And boxing gloves don’t soften the blow if you’ve had enough

You ask for a break like you deserved such a precious privilege

Scream at mouths to shut up when you spew the same trite shit

You said it yourself hypocrite, just repair it with your own tools

Don’t go around asking pleas, for the ones you once called fools

Oh, the world doesn’t care about your melodramatic ascencions

Why are you surprised it still revolves, when yours won’t go on?

Warn you’ll turn into a beast when you are pushed to your limits

But end up sobbing and whining, life’s just fucking unfair, isn’t it?

~*~

Because it doesn’t get better, unless you’re pretty
It doesn’t get better, unless you’ve got money
It doesn’t get better, so just give up
It never gets better, no, it gets worse…

Ave Sancti Scelus

And if such inferno paves the way to the gates of heaven

Let my will sin freely, benediction blessing chaste broken

And if heaven rots under my feet to make way for inferno

Let my soul pray for mercy, tempt christening pious sorrow.

Mama, didn’t mean to make you cry

Mama, we’re all gonna die
Stop asking me questions
I’d hate to see you cry!
Mama, we’re all gonna die…

~*~

Mama,

The baby boy that you cared for just didn’t want to be your son

He wanted his dad to look up to, he wanted to be a better man

He tied his shoes the way you taught him, lace over under one

He packed his bags to chase the sky, and away your baby boy ran

.

Mama,

The baby girl that you loved just didn’t want any of your compassion

She wasted her life and bled her thoughts with rusty gears and a knife

She tied her hair the way you taught her, plaited neat with a pink ribbon

Clicked her heels and stole some wheels, now your baby girl’s a wife

.

Mama,

The little child that you raised just simply didn’t want to let you down

For you worked your backbones broken and you sold your golden crown

You just wanted a better future for us, and to live to see our tomorrow

Oh mama, how would you have known that it would all end in sorrow?

.

Mama,

I don’t know how you always have stark hope, forever keeping our strayed faith

Pray some more, sweat every pore, and cross your fingers hard until it breaks

But mama, you never asked anyone anything, no, you never begged Him why

I’m sorry mama, I promise we will be okay someday, so don’t cry, please don’t cry

~*~

And if you would call me a sweetheart
I’d maybe then sing you a song
But the shit that I’ve done with this fuck of a gun
You would cry out your eyes all night long!
