Killing Queen

That first summer we spent’s
One we’ll never forget
Looking for any kind of reason
To escape all the mess that
We thought was what made us…

~*~

Sometimes I laugh at the thought

Of me writhing, as I vainly fought

Against a spell you held me under

You broke the walls, I ran for cover

.

But instead of playing me the victim

You merely stared and started singing

And I revealed out from my sanctuary

No longer afraid of what I can ever see

.

As tenor rose to the star-canopied skies

Hearts cadenced, synchronised lullabies

I locked the doors, left the windows open

Closed my eyes as you smiled and went in.

~*~

Ain’t it funny now? We can see
We’re who we’re meant to be
You still have all of my
You still have all of my
You still have all my heart…

with a g

I’ll be the silver lining around your fence
Used to protect yourself from all the world
And its sharp teeth ’cause my open hand
And heart think you belong with me…

~*~

i’m made of

cigarette smoke

and whiskey

mixed with

liquid genocide

i’m made of

dead butterflies

in gloom boys’ stomachs

and a penchant for

red tape lies

.

you’re made of

sunlight haze

and lemonade twists

beyond a slice of

raspberry cake

you’re made of

quinine clemency

and natural blue

oh, that sideways smile

is all it takes

.

until i’m

unraveled bare

like a torn ragdoll

with a childish whim

and left in stitches

this candid spell

drowning ocean eyes

dear charlatan heart

you make a cynic

love the sweet bliss.

You were the light at the end of the hall
I followed bright signals sent my way
Because I’m steady day by day
So now I’m swimming in slow seconds with you…

Dreamcatcher

We’ve been a burden though we were kept alive
By the ones we’ve forsaken, by the ones at our side
The truth we’ve found is out there lost in everything
We can show the way for the wandering
When we’re young, we’re so naive….

~*~

It comes in wavering collapses

Of grief and breathless apologies

The artificial halogens are but false hope

As the truth is buried up to your knees

.

Where do I stand still if not for time?

I feel tears threatening to dwell again

Borderline deranged on black composure

Cyanide approval for minutes of craven

.

Is it worth the catch to let go of the dream?

There’s a ghost whispering lies inside my skin

And if I choose to listen to the sound of hell

Is there a way for me to break the spell?

.

But guide me home where the stars don’t hurt

And the light cast upon me is my transient rebirth

I won’t be resurrected in the blink of a goodbye

Though perhaps this time, I would feel less when I die.

~*~

It’s easy to see we’re running out of time, the walls are collapsing
They’re coming down on me, and nothing’s as it seems
This world is in ruins, you can’t believe what you see
Don’t you see, don’t you see? Don’t you desire to see the truth?

but i can’t spell out your epitaph on my own.

and i’d watch the whole world

fall down at your grave

just to feel you breathe again

.

they say this selfishness

is merely built up of compromised lies

wringing my skin dry of scars

.

but i’ll dismantle my entire being

and carve notches of your name in my soul

just so you could fill in

the gaps between my bones.

The Devil On The Horizon

Are you sick, are you tired, and you’re feeling vain?
Your lips are turning blue
I know you wish you were dead to the world
But there’s something you should know…

~*~

A scream that cuts like the edge of a pensive

Bullets and serpents caught between your teeth

Gritting and gnashing until the pieces shatter

Drown demons under gasoline and burning water

.

You swore there was a heaven, and you let us keep it

You swore there was a hell, but you have kept it secret

Living in this filthy world of hospitals and deathbeds

Singing a little fucking louder to keep from being dead

.

Take us through woodworks, past wolves and putrid decay

Flowers for Medusa, I’ll go tell Slater in the bathroom door

Heal the hurting with rusty needles to sew the pain in half

Within a canvas of dark ink, true maven artwork soul falls

.

Trapped under circle pits, dragged under entrancing spells

We’ll join the club of antivists, our middle fingers up there

This liberation against possession, anarchists for catharsis

What’s yours is ours, and all this hatred could go get pissed

.

The jaded beep of the tiring monitor may never feel your heart

But this mind feels each beat of your raging pulse steadily restart

Sempiternal like the horizon, and you’d better fucking believe it

You’ll scream for the damned and the broken, yeah, that’s the spirit.

~*~

You’re scared, I can see you tremble
Shaking like a dog, shitting razor blades
Feel the shadows like a stranger
Well, join the club, yeah, join the club
Do you think you’re the only one who feels the way you do?
We’re all fifty shades of fucked up…

strained in yells

for whom it tolls

the church bells

scrims crevasse

i’m just another

Foolhardy with a Capital F

I’ve been trying to make sense
I’ve been shouting under my breath
How’s any of this in my interest
When you sold me out
I must’ve not got the cheque…

~*~

You are under my skin

I will take it all off then

You were heavy clouds

Always hanging around

Don’t hold your breath

‘Cause you’ll suffocate

It’s bad for your health

To be dosed up in hate

Should I spell you out?

You are foolhardy with

A capital F, falling south

Crash into misperceive

.

Do the acid test, Goldie

Bearing a forest cavalry

Hey Mary extraordinary

Don’t, don’t be contrary

Please Julie, do not fall

Within collapsing stars

Charlie, go easy to call

When you begin a war

Should I spell you out?

You’re Miss Foolhardy

With a capital F, so say

I am wrong, so tell me

.

You’re always oblivious

To the chairs I’ve pulled

Next to you, so obvious

But you ain’t got a clue

I have brand new eyes

You only spat on them

But I’ll see even clearer

With my distorted lens

But why’d you fail to see

Should I still spell it out?

You are Miss Foolhardy

With a big red capital F

You hightail in a Harley

Hell is your playground

But oh, Miss Foolhardy

I must be Mister Dopey

And every time, for your

Recklessness, I go crazy.

~*~

Don’t hold your breath
I’m not losing sleep over you
I’m Mr. Reckless
And you’re defenceless
The best you never had…

Spellbound

Girl I’ve got you, under a spell
And I don’t think I’ll be letting you out
I’ve got you
If this is heaven then baby I don’t wanna know hell…

~*~

Mellifluous incantations, celestial visions

Magic words and highly toxic potions

Wooden wands, dolls and hair strands

Ancient books on rickety stands

.

Cauldrons frothing, shimmering with iridescent fog

Deformed ladles melting, hissing, starting to sag

A shady silhouette at the very back of the room

Another victim tied up, awaiting her inevitable doom

.

Dripping from his mouth like silver light stirring

Cold eyes so hypnotizing, sonorous voice so mesmerizing

Lilting words strung together like Christmas lights

Forming manipulations to remove the frontal lobe of her mind

.

Poisonous liquid numbing down her tongue

His delicate hands covering her frightened eyes from the sun

Dark clouds and dust, dirty dungeons and deliria

Each utter flowing from his mouth gives her rising hysteria

.

His head snaps, her head lolls, scorching sparks start to fly

Chanting louder, growing stronger, a crow raises its violent cry

He gestures wildly, she whimpers sadly, and finally took the fall

She listlessly sits with no other wits, he’s got her under his control

.

He’s successfully got her under his impenetrable spell

Forever bound to an incantation, a prisoner of her own mind

Never to leave, never to break, never to be well

An empty shell that ricochets a faint cry of help behind

.

He captured her heart with his powerful spell

Because no amount of magic can cause him to love anymore

So lonely. So dreary. He lives his days in constant hell

Taking victim after victim, throwing them away when he gets bored

.

He took her entire life into one big fantasy spell

She got so indulged and passionate that she couldn’t even tell

And shame that her common sense can no longer be set free

Because that senseless, limerent, spellbound girl is me.
