stung

rub the salt

upon my heart

and watch it

twitch—like

the parody of

a steady pulse

.

it aches like

dearest agony,

but the worst

part about it is

that i live for the

reviving hurt.

Do You Want It All?

Cause I’m tired and I’m restless
And I’m pretty sure I met my match
And I lie here defenceless
I’m the Sunday hunters weekend war
I’ve been here, I’ve been here before…

~*~

My whole throat is wrapped all around the bedroom

And they’re singing “you’re gonna get what’s coming to you”

But I dance along to the beat of summer’s monsoons

Spinning hurricanes like weekends behind your eyes so blue

Come see me in the days that you always counted down

Starving the thoughts in your head without a simpler warning

To taste the pillows like it’s mint chocolates in a hotel bed

So when you drink your coffee, it will sting like a sour morning

But you won’t haunt me all the way into the suffocating dirt

Wash those stains off your collar and lead the colours to the earth

Take a long walk in sunset park, and I will make you believe

You will get what’s coming to you, and it’s more than what you need.

~*~

This is a warning, never gonna get
Never gonna get me out this town
Let’s start the mourning, never gonna see
Never gonna see another day…

Let Me In

If we’re being honest you broke every little promise
That you made to me, I was too blind to see
I was so defenseless now I’m coming to my senses
After all these years, it’s finally crystal clear…

~*~

and i let you in

when you were crying

allowing you to drown me

with relentless tears

i’m an honest man

but even good souls lie

and i’m sorry to say

every determined action ends

with a shattered promise

we’re nothing but immortal strangers

now, waiting for an introduction

that will never come

was i wrong to omit my name

in a letter meant for you?

i’m blindly stumbling down

every oath i thought they’ve taken

for the sake of lesser blood

only to find out that

you’ve been smearing it on the

blackened walls all along

so climb up on my scars and

fucking cry on them

the sting of the salt tastes better

when i know it’s deliberate

with every insipid issue

comes a cold winter to return the tides

and blowing snow in my eyes

still, i refuse to blink them

knowing you will steal my view

in the end, what’s left is a dusty attic

with a collection of all the foolish memories

of a friend and his machine

both smiling mechanically until

you can’t tell them apart at all

and this door may remain to be open

but it’s locked for you until then

feel free to knock ‘til your knuckles bleed, but

i won’t ever let you in again.

~*~

I let you bury me alive for far too long
But I’m climbing back up to the surface back to where I belong
And now it’s clear that you’re the worst part of me
How did I ever let you claw your way in so deep?

Cutless

It feels like a decade

Since these tears last bled

And the moon in my sober eyes

Were thoroughly wasted

When the sentient papercuts

Barely felt a modest sting

And the headlights overhead

Were blindingly glaring

When nights were spent praying

But the car crash never arrived

Acid sensation uncontrollable

But no one ever died

It feels like a decade since

The reaper knocked on my wrists

I swept my sins but I still don’t know

What it’s like to be completely free.

iodine tongue

pardon me

for being unable

to fucking heal

like you easily do

as you talk with

an isopropyl mouth

stinging these cuts

like it helped to sew

so pardon me

for being unable

to fucking heal

like you easily do

and it doesn’t really

help that you’ve

ripped the band-aid

off my bloody wound.

I Collect Knives For A Living, What About You?

Did you think that this was all an excuse for
Hospitality, I know you think its all because of me
At first glance, I’ll breathe in
Leaving myself no room to move, at all
My mind is so flooded and I’m drunk with regret…

~*~

The tastes of stale regret and naphthalene

Another back turned on the open doorway

Fingers doused in iodine, alcohol, chlorine

Waiting for the pain to settle down, replay

.

Rusty crowbar flirting with the windowsill

These corroded wrists haven’t had their fill

Punctures arresting moments of a contrition

Skins embalmed, synthetic human condition

.

Swirling pastel watercolours and paint thinner

Interpreting artistic gashes, mixing all together

Cobalt strings, a neon glower of vermilion stars

Punishing priorities, daggers and guns on a war

.

Consuming traitor thiamine and betrayal’s booze

The reverse of a fraud, there’s nothing left to lose

A ventriloquist’s windpipe running out of oxygen

Nauseating disorientation, from a stagnant anacin

.

Lifelines tied to sycamore trees, carved ink indelible

But the oaths made by shedding blood can be soluble

Viscera in peril, executing a resentment due fortnight

I’m provoking hospital emergencies or flashing lights

.

Self-sabotage and mutual mutinies, fractured pinky promises

Wayward ethos revolting, a temper testament, trading curses

A compromised compulsion, haldol in hazardous momentum

Meaningless psychosis, mangled liar’s baptism in moratorium.

~*~

A fake, a fraud, forked tongue and I am nervous
At least I can say I made it out this time
I am just fine where you have left me
As for you be sure to cover up your mouth
I don’t know how to say this, my thoughts have just run out…

A Nest of Vipers

People who get hurt

Turn over to spite

An aggravated nest

Is difficult to fight

.

Insults and laughter

Fangs bared to attack

Deadly as wild vipers

Hissing under a sack

.

A gregarious indignation

Of the innocence they spit

But the sting of the venom

Only exacerbates the guilt.

metal & skin (vi.)

the initial sting

of breaking nerves

and tearing flesh

makes you gasp

involuntarily…

but after that, the

pain isn’t so bad

anymore, and the

damage done is

satisfying to see.
