Lost for the Earth (Terra Incognita)

The earth is silent yet listening, its newborn dewdrops glistening

Hear my lungs fervidly breathing, slowest softest oxygen inhaling

Smoky fog against the glass, let candy crystal dragonflies pass

Grazing against the jade-encrusted grass, insects now don’t be crass

Fabulous not emulous, elegance and jubilance destined to me

Asterisks of yellow stars, velvety chocolate skies, asterim so pretty

Fire and ice, snowcaps cover the lies, asteroids fall like blazing hail

Along chirping twirling ceaseless flying starlings and nightingales

An ocean bloom, a lonely doom, a peacock’s kaleidoscopic plume

A gossamer cloud born against the midnight morn, water kissing flume

Lost wandering and travelling yet worry not your sake unravelling

Distance is no nuisance when peaceful tranquillity is clamouring

They have come but slowly gone, lose that cynical vitriol perpetual

Bring back the rarest essences of ruby quintessence flowing elliptical

Listen to the sound of the pouring rain patter against your brain, the symphonic sheen

And bask in the glory of nature, raw and verdant orchestrating, unmuffled by clanking machines.

The Universe On A Bookshelf

Stardust glimmering on my pen and ink
Quarks and leptons on my paper bounce and blink
Literature creating an astral symphony
Silver letters and galaxies arching very beautifully.

Trying to catch ideas

Is like chasing a shooting star

They’re vestal, illuminating, and pretty from afar

Yet also fast, fleeting, hard to see, and highly ephemeral.

~*~

Trying to weave together a story

Is like weaving a massive sophisticated galaxy

You’ll need many stars and a spool of golden strings

To tie them up together with neat bearings.

~*~

Trying to chase our imaginations and creativity

Is like chasing the vast universe endlessly

The stars may look like they’re already running out

And it may seem impossible, you have your itching doubts

But there are still millions to unearth, for the universe is infinite

Just like our imaginations, never-ending, without any limits.

Heartstrings

At first you strummed my slender heartstrings

And produced a mellifluous sound

Your hands worked delicately like angel wings

Producing harmonic symphonies all around

I wished for your graceful playing to never end

But time proved later not to be my friend

Time ran away from me, and all the running hurt my heart

And I thought that your amazing hands could heal

But I failed to see that from the very start

Your heartstrings were unclinging, damaged, but you never revealed

Somehow you changed, your music no longer sounds okay

And your hands got rougher and my heartstrings began to flay

But your music made me deaf to my own tortured cries

Your cold touch made me numb to the searing pain

So I begged tearfully even more for your playing to go by

Soon your heart slowly hardened, your soul filled with taint

You no longer tugged, but instead you pulled with your might

Impervious to the discord that arose from your fight

And when you can no longer take your shambolic symphony of torture

You grabbed a pair of scissors while I was stunned

And cut them off

One

By

One. . .

Turning my heart like yours.
